I was at Costco shopping today and I passed by their prebuilt PCs. It seems like the days of crappy cases with bad airflow are gone. That first $999 PC has an i5 and 4060… but it’s also got a Phanteks case and fans in it.

you say that but on closer inspection the flaws will show out, no dust filters, bad fittings etc.
Costco doing Costco things. Beat place to buy a pre built imo.
It’s always weird to me seeing glass side panels on prebuilts with their crappy components. They usually have the cheapest possible ram, motherboard, cooler, SSD etc. I don’t know why someone would want to show off all their flaws. Of course most people buying prebuilts can’t tell the difference.
(The one in the picture doesn’t look too bad though)
i5 and 4060 should be $700.

Those aren’t bad for a completely system. I’m spending $2k on a system currently and I’m not even buying storage or a GPU yet. I made a Corsair purchase that cost more than the PC on the left even with a 10% student discount (direct through Corsair).
What is this? Home Depot?
Honestly, a good case is the first thing that intrigues people. even with shit specs, some people might be fooled into buying it just because it looked cool.
