I can’t believe people are still arguing about whether cyberpunk fashion is empowering or objectifying. It’s just a style, get over it.

It’s empowering for normal people, and objectifying for the butthurt ones.

Cyberpunk fashion and aesthetic is extremely broad. And besides, isn’t a big part of Cyberpunk aesthetic the emphasis on how sex sells? Like, it’s kind of supposed to be sexy, when it wants to be.

I’m confused. Does anyone have anything I can specifically reference to understand what the debate is about? I don’t remember the game having anything particularly egregious

I just can’t get over how scary fucking mantis blades are tho bro like imagine ur just chilling and someone PULLS BLADES OUTTA THEIR ARMS AND CUTES PEOPLE UP

The objectification thing is out of control. If those people had their way, women would all be homely and dress like men.

It stifles creativity. My ex, a woman, flat out refused to play games she couldn’t dress her character up the way she wanted and make her attractive.

I feel real objectified when I get a rocket launcher attached to my arm so I can blow up my adversaries.

It’s powerful, people don’t have to screech about every form of media that comes out. Jesus.

It’s objectifying. That’s the point. Sex sells, style over substance. It’s part of the aesthetic.
