Would a Upgrade to a i7 9700k or i9 9900/k make sense for gaming?

9700k has similar performance (likely faster, but limited by 8 threads so it depends) and 9900k is overpriced due to being best chip on the socket. Unless you really can’t change the motherboard, upgrade to something modern.
