Last time I checked Saudi Arabia only had a population of like 36 million… How are 2/3 of them gamers? :-O

Saudi Arabia already hosted the Esports World Cup recently and it honestly didn’t garner much attention. Ignore it and it will go away again

People are looking at this wrong. Punishing SA for perceived immorality is less likely to instigate change in the culture than a wildly popular influx of gaming and related media showcasing western values.
Sure, they don’t “deserve” it, but if it may lead even a little bit to improving how the country views of women, LGBT, etc, isn’t it worth supporting?
So serious question. All those games with rainbow skins and flags and stuff… Will that be banned? Will they censor it? Will they arrest openly LGBTQ players?
This is such a recipe for disaster (caused by the greed of a few)

People bashing any specific country and its people, just know that yours isn’t any better. And before anyone jumps at the chance to throw an LGBTQ and woman rights excuse, your country still isn’t 100% about it either and will never be, each nation has a right and a left and they are always at odds. Also one person does not define a whole nation and saying otherwise makes you simply a racist. And if you base whatever you know by the things you read and hear in the “news”, then what about Europe continued enslavement of many African countries or the US conquering of other countries in the Middle East with the excuse of stability all the while raping woman and kids while killing innocents all for the sake of securing resources? Do you choose to ignore this type of news because it doesn’t paint your country in a positive light? Killing, raping innocents in these regions is fine, but how dare they not allow two men to kiss or a woman to wear a bikini in public? What kind of fucked up priorities are setting up here? Since when is this more important than safety and survivability of smaller countries surrounded by already fallen countries by the hands of stronger ones like in Europe and US among others. To me these priorities that the west is so focused on are a product of a nation that hasn’t been in danger and got allot of free time while being safe and sheltered. Wake up! the whole world is fucked up!
