That’s kinda dumb. I’m not an Xbox kid by any means but Europe (UK) specifically is about the only place Xbox was winning. Everywhere else in the world pretends they don’t exist
Edit: ok winning was a bit of an exaggeration but what i meant was some of the biggest Xbox fanboys I’ve ever met were from the UK. I mean the type that wouldn’t touch a PlayStation if it were given to them.

As an European (Netherlands to be specific), the marketing for Xbox consoles has been non-existent for years already anyway. I genuinely don’t remember the last time I saw an ad for Xbox consoles.

This is bad for competition, but ultimately I think Microsoft has recognized that as a hardware developer they’re not doing that well and probably never will. If nothing else, their complete inability to penetrate the Asian markets to a significant, competitive degree with Playstation means they’re losing out on a significant chunk of their potential userbase right from the start, and they failed to capitalize on their North American momentum with the Xbox 360 with the insanely bizarre Xbox One reveal and launch.

This implies they ever started marketing in those regions to begin with.

All I ever hear is how there is zero marketing in those regions.
Heck there is barely any in Canada, this is why Xbox fails.
Social media marketing doesn’t sell consoles.

Around the internet this rumor is kinda spreading as “no more consoles in EU” wich is not the case. IF It’s true is just a lesser stock wich yeah, it makes sense, they are selling few consoles so the stock get smaller.
About the marketing, i think is a good idea to push Gamepass more. Like here in Italy a ton of players are getting a gaming PC. There’s already extremely little marketing, so if they have a set budget, is better to push Gamepass to people that already have a device to play it tather than the console itself.

Game Pass makes more in one day than all Xbox Series consoles sold til now. Sony and MS pay each other tech license fees (Blu ray and Direct X derivitives come to mind). Sony Corp almost dumped Playstation a few years back. The ‘agreement’ is almost here. A single, well made console (Sony) loaded with all the cloud options, and *maybe* an optical drive.

They already don’t market Xbox in Europe tho?

Surprised they aren’t doing this in Asia unless they’re convinced they can flip things in Japan or think Korea and China will adopt their console in sufficient numbers.

As someone who lives in Switzerland, I can tell you right now that they haven‘t marketed the Xbox console here in like 12 years.
