Street kid would be my favorite backstorie if it weren’t for this detail (maybe I’m missing something)

I think this is supposed to be the most “canon” backstory BUT it doesn’t make sense V has been a merc for years now, even being close with Padre and hanging out at the bar and somehow we’re supposed to believe he doesn’t know Jackie? Doesn’t make a lot of sense
