This is me with cars. Back in 2011, bought a brand new charger rt with red leather, heated cooled cupholders, the works. Now Ive got two kids, a mortgage, etc… i just bought a 2015 civic because it gets me from a to b with good gas mileage and I love it.

I feel this though a bit more than 5 years ago lol. Wanted one of the big fancy EVGA classified motherboards with an SLI setup. Could never afford it (and honestly kinds glad about that)

I hit this point shortly after the Nvidia 8800gtx hit the market. That was the last new release flagship card I’ve bought. Every upgrade since has been at least a generation behind (thus my flair) and I’m absolutely okay with that

Definitely had the “fuck it” mindset when the family started, but now that they’re all teenagers, Dad is back into full homelab mode. I grew up in the era of single digit clock speeds, so I’m thoroughly enjoying having 76 cores in the house! 😀

That noctua cooler is pretty expensive imo

The PC in the top looks pretty and expensive. The bottom is it works and doesn’t need to be expensive.
