Yet another company that goes onto the „shit i never buy from again“ list.
I really question their intentions releasing this story. Before they made their twitter post, it was likely a VERY small number of people who were aware of this issue, and if those people, likely even smaller amount to none that had malicious intent. After posting the thread, even while leaving the company name anonymous, viewers were quickly able to figure out it was Zotac, so now you have a situation where thousands if not tens or hundreds of thousands of people are aware of this, and of that group of people, I’m sure there will be a number of people going to check out the exploit with malicious intent. GN have been all about the “journalism” as of late, and it makes sense, because it’s their highest performing videos, but in some cases, I feel like they’re being blinded by the drama and controversy rather than actually doing what’s best for the situation, which in this case, all the customers and companies who had their private information be vulnerable.

Their subreddit had a warning about it yesterday. So the word was out as is.
Tho, even then. Them waiting to post the video until Zotac fixed it was good. The bad thing was that they called them out on it about personal user info, they ignored it mostly. Then called their business partners that their documents were in the open. Then it got fixed instantly. It’s just shitty that that’s what was needed to get them going to fix it.
