If you got a monitor mount you’d fix two critical issues. The first is view height, unless you’re a dwarf or have a super curved spine constantly looking down at that monitor probably isn’t great for your neck.
The second is cable management as you identified, I find by having a central point like a monitor stand, I can route my cables down and through it rather than just raw dogging it up the back.
