Hello, Forza Horizon community! We have to share a couple of updates regarding Forza Horizon 4, its availability, and the changes we are bringing to the Festival Playlist in the near future.

Due to licensing and agreements with our partners, Forza Horizon 4 will be delisted from digital platforms (Microsoft Store and Steam) on December 15, 2024. This means the game and its additional content will no longer be available for purchase through online stores.

Before the delisting date, the Festival Playlist’s flow will change as follows:

  • Starting July 25, we will have the final series for the game in Series 77 which will include the last Festival Playlist that ends on August 22.
  • After Series 77 ends on August 22, you will no longer be able to access the playlist screen, except to see the festival playlist history. When booting the game, you will be taken to the Festival Site screen rather than the Festival Playlist.
  • Even though there won’t be any more Festival Playlists after Series 77 (August 22), you will still be able to see the Forza Events screen which will include a selection of daily and weekly challenges. Completing these challenges and Forzathon Live Events will earn you Forzathon Points that you can exchange for Backstage Passes.
  • We will update the Backstage Pass Cars list with all the remaining cars that have previously been Festival Playlist Exclusive after Series 77.

Series 77, ending on August 22, will be the last chance to earn achievements tied with the Festival Playlist including:

AchievementPointsDescriptionA Creature of Habit15Complete all Seasonal Championships in a Festival Playlist Series.Stunt Puller15Complete all Seasonal PR Stunts in a Festival Playlist Series.Cashing In20Earn 1 Season Completion Bonus.Perfectionist30Earn all 8 Season Completion Bonuses in the same Series.Encore?50Complete all activities in a single Festival Playlist Series.

Starting today, June 25; Forza Horizon 4’s DLC will get delisted from platforms, meaning that only Forza Horizon 4 Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate versions will be available for purchase from this day until delisting happens.

From this date forward we will offer different discounts for Forza Horizon 4, like the one currently active on STEAM (at the time of publishing); we will also have a sale in the Xbox Store on 7/14. Please keep an eye out on our socials and different platforms to take advantage of future offers.

On December 15, Forza Horizon 4 will be delisted from stores and Xbox Game Pass. This means the game and its additional content will no longer be available for purchase. Players who already own the game and its content will be able to download and play it as normal, including its offline, online, and multiplayer features; physical copies of the game purchased after this date will also work and will be able to use online features.

If you played Forza Horizon 4 through Xbox Game Pass and purchased DLC content for it, worry not: by having an active, full-paid (not discounted) Xbox Game Pass subscription on 6/25 you will be eligible to receive a game token if you have purchased any extra content for Forza Horizon 4 through your Xbox Message Center. Codes will start to be delivered in the following days, please bear in mind that it might take a while before you get your token.

Unused tokens will expire starting at 6/25/26; if you haven’t received your token by this date, please contact Xbox Support

Thank you so much for enjoying the content updates we have brought to this game. Remember to make the most of the remaining time of the Festival Playlist and that when the game is delisted, you’ll still be able to play it as you always have.

Nuking a game from 2018, really? The games industry really is wild.

  2. Sprites4Ever

Can’t blame Microsoft for this, it uses licensed cars and the manufacturers didn’t extend the licenses. Happens a lot with racing games.

Also, props to Microsoft for hosting a sale and, and I can’t believe I’m even saying this, letting people who already bought it keep it.

  3. I played it briefly on Xbox Game Pass but I don’t know if I want to buy it to keep it.

The game will still work, you just can’t buy it new.

Anyone try this on Steam Deck? I have been thinking of picking it up…

  6. SaintNimrod

Shame, but they always have a sale before it’s delisted which is cool. Horizon is always such a chill game.

I’m confused, why would they delist the DLC right away, but keep the Ultimate Editions up for purchase which includes the DLC? Like, I just want to buy the DLC separate but it seems they already delisted it without even a warning.

  8. TheSpiralTap

This is one of the best games I’ve ever played and I cannot recommend you picking it up while you still can.

  9. jokekiller94

It’s nice of them to give a game token to game pass players who bought dlc

do you guys think it’ll go on deeper discount later on? I’m not really a racing person, but I think NFS is okay and I am a little interested in getting it in my library before it gets delisted

  11. heyuhitsyaboi

It already seems like the Hot Wheels car pack is delisted… ffs. I was waiting for it to go on sale since it’s $10 and needed for only ONE achievement. Its also not available in any of the editions the game is sold with, meaning the DLC was only purchasable alone

How come Forza horizon 3 is not delisted..but 4 first

  13. How difficult is it to earn achievements by August 22?

  14. BizarroPete

I was a bit worried, but it looks like this was the one Forza Horizon I didn’t buy (played via GP) and didn’t buy the DLC for.

I still may buy the game if the discount is good enough.

  15. MrMiyagi_256

Is it worth buing now ? since its availabe for so cheap

  16. KyoshuTokawa

Would someone recomend Horizon 4 over Horizon 5? I just bought an Steam Deck and Iwas plaining on buying Horizon 5 during the summer sale, but if there’s no much difference and Horizon 4 is cheaper I’d rather buy that one.

Although I’m mexican so I like my country in the game… jajaja

  17. JackWick600

The backlog keeps getting bigger. Still it’s sad to see such a great and high quality game get delisted.

  18. phoebus67

I just don’t get why a developer would make a game that they know they will have to delist in a few years

I guess the type that likes these games really likes the brands, but to me if they replaced every car brand with a generic made up one it would literally not make a difference.

  19. storyseekerx

I’m thinking about stop buying digital games and Go back to physical games. My bucks on a cd/cartridge can be sold, traded and given. Digital games ARE only a right to play. And for some games that right os temporary.

  20. Would this have that crazy sale like Marvel’s Avengers did? I think I got it at 95% off just before it got delisted.

  21. GenericGaming

I own the base game but not the dlc. I can’t buy the dlc because they delisted it.

I would buy the ultimate edition but I can’t because I already own the base game.

anyone have any idea what I’m meant to do to get the dlc at this point?

  22. FH4 is probably my favorite. I love the scenery and it has an amazing soundtrack.

  23. johann1010

So Leute forza is fertig runtergeladen wollen wir mal ne Runde starten?

  24. ConsistencyWelder

I wanted to like FH4+5 real bad. But I hated playing them because of two things:

Unskippable cutscenes. Really long ones too. An automatic nope from me.

Very bad steering wheel implementation. The controls are optimized for console controllers, and I couldn’t find any setting to make them playable with a steering wheel. Having steering wheel support seems like a very basic thing a racing game needs, but I guess they decided to half-ass it and just ctrl-c/ctrl-v from the consoles.

  25. peedypapers

I connected with the map on this one the most. So many scenic areas with cool architecture. That Edinburgh-esque city was class.

  26. kvbrd_YT

it’s annoying with racing games. they literally all have an expiration date the moment they release.

  27. The token for the game if you paid for any DLC on game pass is nice, I think. I’m not sure they’re obliged to, I was expecting just the usual discounted sale.

  28. Silenzeio_

It’s ridiculous to just drop all DLC from sale the same time this is announced.

Welcome to the flood gates of grey market sites.

  29. The problem is the dlc is gone, the ultimate edition doesn’t come with all the dlc so it’s kinda pointless now to buy.
