yeah looks like backlight died.
I hate to say it dude, I had that happen to my G7. It first would fix itself after turning the monitor off then on again. Unfortunately after awhile it’ll stay that way permanently. It’s on borrowed time. I suspect it’s a design flaw with extreme curved design.
This is why they tell you to turn things off when you work on them. Even pulling the cables from monitors can mess with it
So this same thing happened on my surface laptop studio 1. Worked fine for a year, and then suddenly half of the screen would dim. Restarting the laptop fixed the issue. Since last week, the issue is back and it’s happening frequently.
Check to see if there is a firmware update for your monitor.
Another Samsung panel that fails…., we have a specific model at work that a curved samsung ultrawide known to fail, we replace at least 20 of them every week
Your backlights are kaput. Time for a new monitor.
Unfortunately Samsung QC for this display is abysmal. Sorry man.
This exact same thing happened to me with my old predator x34p (also curved). Had to send it back to Acer so they could replace the backlights. Would happen periodically sometimes was okay.

I realised with this purchase I don’t really need more than 60fps. I was so decadent.

Had this happen. A bit of “purcussive maintenance” fixed it. But eventually got worse, and died totally. I suspect a contact or something corroded away or loosened to the point where it couldn’t make contact.
I just ended up buying a new monitor.
So it seems. Sorry
happend to my samsung monitor too. It died about a month later
