For me I gotta go with Midnight Club 3. The way the menus dash rapidly between buildings throughout the city is honestly pretty impressive for a game from 2005. Especially since the newer consoles really tried to show off the power of the SSD by rapidly loading in a city, but MC3 was doing that 15 years prior! (Although it’s much more simplistic and isn’t actually on an SSD lol)

Persona 5 feels like a menu design showcase with some gameplay

I’d say the original Halo titles had some pretty great menus.

I have to give it to either last of us games. I just like the ambient background to it. I don’t recall paying attention to any others

I guess one could put Need for Speed Underground.

Twisted Metal Black. I‘m a sucker for menus that share one giant scenery.

House real big, cars real big, di*k real big, everything real big!! Love the game!

I also like Metroid Fusion (and every other 2D game, tbh) main menu music. It always gets me hyped 🙂

The Call of Duty Black Ops one was brilliant.

Kenshi. Because the theme song is a banger.

  9. It sure as fuck isn’t cod. I downloaded modern warfare 2019 and the menu is a fucking mess

Kingdom Hearts and Ocarina of Time win for atmosphere and fantastic music.

    (Colin McRae) DiRT 1/2

    (Racedriver) Grid

    Mirror’s Edge (2008)

  12. Toy Commander on Dreamcast.

You’d choose the room to play in while the menu swivels around a 3d model of a house. Blew my mind as a kid.
