Kind of crazy how the king of good value built one of the worst possible pcs for the budget

  2. Donglemaetsro

Didn’t you know? The cooler the cooler is the cooler the PC is. This is a really cool build!

Was this really posted by microcenter? If so thats really surprising, they usually know their shit.

  4. AnanasMango

They probably know that this is a shitty configuration but want to entice people to buy their dead stock

  5. I have a hard time believing this. **Where did they post this?**

That’s one of the most annoying audio tracks I’ve ever heard, and that’s a terrible parts list.

What the fuck is that build? So many bad choices…

To bad there is zero microcenters in Oregon and the closest one is a 17 hour drive to southern California.

If the xpu costs less than the MB, you are doing it wrong.

  9. Morrowind12

Maybe if they spent less on the air cooler they could actually buy fans to put into their pc op.

200$ wifi motherboard on a budget build 😢

The cooler for the CPU is more expensive than the CPU…

  12. 112$ for the cpu cooler

i see the person building the computer has their priorities straight

It’s becoming a more common marketing strategy to post content that shows someone making a mistake to generate discussion and feedback thus improving engagement on the post. You see those mobile game ads where they have someone playing a fake game very poorly? That concept has been carried on into Youtube thumbnails, and now other ads.

Something tells me Intel sponsored this.

lol got a $120 cooler on a budget build and a Intel arc for a gpu. Even as far as Intel has gotten its still not better than AMD.

  16. Bob_Sagat69

Just an ad for their $499 processor, Mobo, ram, and GPU bundle.

  17. highmodulus

In fairness, they didn’t claim it was a *good* one.

As someone who wants to build a pc soon, may I ask why it seems that people are not liking the 12600kf?

  19. icebreaker374

NH-D15 for a 12th gen i5 seems rather extreme but to each their own. Could do an H212 and have another $70 to throw at a slightly better GPU, better case, more RAM, 2nd SSD, etc…

“Why is that build so bad?”

Ads. It’s an ad. I guarantee it’s a paid promotion for those products. The same reason any company does anything.

The mobo, ram, & cpu are good choices with the bundle deal. That cooler though? The fuck is that??? At this budget just slap on Hyper 212, Thermalright Assassin, etc. Use the extra $70-$80 bucks towards the GPU and get an RTX 3060 or somethin. Intel Arc is not a great choice for gaming atm.

  22. zeeblefritz

Inflation has really hit the $500 budget build hard.

“you want OS? 100 more dollars”!!!! (Soup nazi voice).
