An example of what I mean would be Infernax which answers the age old question; what if Zelda II and Castlevania II had a baby and that baby got all of the good qualities and none of the bad?

  1. Slipways – really fun little puzzle game designed for space strategy players with no time

  2. Semi-addict-gamer

Ape escape pumped and primed and Ape escape million monkeys.

Honestly both of these games are in my top 10 favorite games of all time.

Lamentum was a solid, pixel art old school survival horror with a 19th century Lovecraftian setting.

It deserves more attention than it got. Any fan of the original Resident Evils would enjoy it I’d expect.

Greedfall… it’s fairly decently reviewed and sold decently, but underrated IMO

The Short Snow – (trailer is coming in 1-2 days for Steam)

    Grapple Dog

Great core mechanics and level design. Charming characters. Classic gaming ethos.

Capitalism Lab. It’s a pretty intense sim builder centered around building your own economy and business. There are a ton of mod packages and the experimental ones are free. They keep adding a lot of features as time goes on. Check out the website: [https://www.capitalismlab.com/](https://www.capitalismlab.com/)

    My two picks would be:

    1. Monster sanctuary, a stream game that is a creature collector that is simple to get into but has so many levels of depth and optimization to make the ultimate team. Run status teams? Charge focused? Monster type synergies like Goblins? What food do you want to give them? Day shift or night shift? What skills do you take and do prioritize stats or skill levels? What equipment do you give? Just so many potential optimizations that is based around a Pokémon style 3v3 fights

    2. 7th Dragon III Code: VFD. It’s a 3DS party based JRPG centered around building a team to travel through time beating the 6 true dragons to create the Dragon Cronicle to stop the 7th dragon from ending the world. Combat is interesting as you build a party of 3 with a bunch of unique classes like the Rune Knight, Banisher, Fortuner, Duelist, God-Hand, etc. they all have skills that allow them to fill 2 potential roles so there is a lot of flexibility and testing. They also have stat grinding through reclassing(basically locked to postgame unless you love grinding) and a DLC that is like a super boss rush for those who love a challenge. Unfortunately it is the third or fourth in a series that was only in Japan and had to compete with other big RPGs on the 3DS like Bravely Default, SMT4, and Fire Emblem Awakening to name a few

  9. CaptFartGiggle

    Risk of Rain 2
    Endless Dungeon
    Palia

  10. PloppyTheSpaceship

Wonder Boy 3 – The Dragon’s Trap. Great early Metroidvania, and the remake is solid too. Can be found on e-stores very cheap.

  11. Coveinant

Nights, Journey of Dreams. Just the ost is worth listening to.

  12. Mad Max and The Saboteur. Mad Max had no right to be as good as it was, and Saboteur was just a very fun game. Can’t go wrong killing Nazi’s!

  13. Mark220v

both risk of rain parts, infernax (as you said), enter the gungeon, subnautica lost it’s hype and now people don’t care about it, osu!.

  14. kegsbdry

immortals of aveum – fun magic shooter game with a great story!

  15. Markor1an

Dragon Warrior monsters. Really old game yet ironically it’s Pokemon done right. You won’t always know when you’ll be attacked and when you have the opportunity to ambush an enemy. Catching is a challenge, you need to know when to try and when to fight instead.

  16. LordAlfrey

    The Orcs Must Die series

I’m not quite sure why it’s never really caught on very well, it seems to be a type of game that you either love or hate I guess? Despite videos of the game reaching, seemingly, quite many through creators like TotalBiscuit, SpiffingBrit, Markiplier, Sips and some vtubers, the number of reviews would suggest none of the titles were really anywhere near the popularities of something like darkest dungeon, dave the diver, loop hero (idk what would even be comparable tbh)
