I definitely couldn't justify the extra $200 for a different brand, but I think it worked out pretty well. She'll be going from an RX 580, and me from a 6600 XT that stutters quite a bit.

The goal is to just be able to play whatever game we want. Too often she uninstalled games that were too demanding and I felt bad, but this changes soon!

This is my first Nvidia card so I hope the drivers live up to the hype. I've always bought AMD before due to budget constraints so I hope this pays off.

    Nice! Congrats!

What CPU are both of you pairing it with?

That is an awesome spec man, im on 7800x3d, but using 3060ti, still does everything i need on 1440p

That said im not against amd but people on this subreddit saying it has no driver issues now are overwhelming to say the least. From 2013 i could only afford amd cards for obvious reasons i was on tight budget so i had hd 4650 which was great, then rx580 which had microstutters whatever i did could not fix it, then 6600 and 6600xt for a friend build since he was on tight budget, also weird stutters that go away if you uninstall adrenaline and most of its drivers just run gpu driver barebones.. I was sick of it and first nvidia gpu was gtx 760 then got gifted 970 that thing was wild, then bought my own 1060.. and finally gifted myself and could not be happier with 250e for a used 3060ti few years back.. Now i got bigger budget and 7800x3d is awesome!

You shouldn’t notice a quality of life difference more so than a generational jump. Considering they both have driver issues depending on what you do with the card. Drivers shouldn’t be a concern while picking a GPU in 2024

Aww, his and hers GPUs. How romantic!

Be sure to use a fan speed control software on that line; They get crazy hot very fast

Use DRIVER VERSION 555.78 from nvidia website

install CUDA 12.5 to get the advanced features these GPUS support an GAMES WILL SCREAM!!

Stay away from WINDOWS 11 an disable windows update then you be fairly stable

Basically you just gave her an excuse to buy her “needed” thing, and now you have no one but yourself to blame.

  8. Got mine recently and it’s a beast of a card!

Wish my wife was as cool as yours(I don’t have a wife)

I was looking at the PC specs for Expedition 33 the other day and saw that “recommended” was at least a 3070. As an owner of a 3070, I was taken back at the realization that the scalping war I had to fight isn’t going to result in much more mileage for the games I want to play in the near future.

Think you can convince her that I need one too?

I didn’t even know PNY still made GPUs.

Their GTX 680 Signature Edition served me well for a long time back in the day.

Lol nvidia has just as bad driver problems as AMD as someone who has owned both.

My partner just bought a 4070 super as part of her new pc. I recently built mine with a 7700xt. Funny how things work out.
