This work is a representation of the city of Kansas City on a 1:1 scale with buildings, roads, trees, and vegetation derived from OpenStreetMap
Biomes are positioned consistently, using high-resolution land cover data
I make those maps with a software I’ve been developing in the last 4 months, which uses the data from various sources including OpenStreetMap and USGS to create a Minecraft World with buildings, roads and natural features based on the data to keep it the more realistic it can be
I’ve been using OSM for a flight-sim I’m working on, and the cloverleafs just being flat roads is something I’ve been trying to fix for a while without having to hand-model them all.

I like it, but there is some missing iconic buildings in this 1:1 scale. Here’s just a couple of additions I would add unless it’s just due to the picture and those aren’t visible.
-Bartle Sky Stations
-Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts
-KC Marriott.

There’s a collective Minecraft project which aims to recreate the whole world in a 1:1 scale. You should hit em up

Nice! Are you from there or live there or just a big Taylor Swift Chiefs fan?
I joke, it’s a beautiful city you made and KC in real life. When I used to live in a near by city, it was a great place to visit.

I wish Microsoft flight simulator had clean maps like this!!!!

Now unleash a bunch of Minecraft players to clean it up/fill it out with stuff like actual roads and building details

Jesus Christ. Are you okay?
Any plans to make the overpasses not flat?
