Yes, if you’d like to become the VP of Doodoo Dynamics you have to be an asshat

Yes, but consider:
The militech woman/Gilchrist
mf who launched himself of the bridge
The V corpo origin story as a whole
Half the corpos appearing in Edgerunners
At least one nuclear explosion in a company HQ
And so much more.

Yes. Money and corruption will secure happiness in the dark future, however you will also be the target of everyone around you and that happiness will be very fleeting if you’re not careful.
It’s not too different to how things work now. Money is kinda everything. It’s how you eat, it’s how you live, it’s what guides most peoples morals unfortunately. Every bad thing in society can usually be traced back to someone profiting from it.

With a large chance your coworker will screw you over
And then someone else will screw over that coworker
It’s the circle of life

It’s almost silly at this point. There is no reason why Tower can’t be happy ending. I think CDPR just way too fixated on their “Wrong city, wrong people” mantra

This is basically real life: evil rich people always win and will always live with an advantageous life.

Not really because Corpos may live well in terms of materialism but they’re under constant stress since any and all coworkers could be conspiring against you just so they can take your spot. Which is exactly what happened with Corpo V. It’s a different kind of struggle but still a struggle.

Corpos gotta watch their back just like anyone else in night city, or end up a bloodstain on the office wall from a coworker who was gunning (literally) for their promotion. Only the worst of the worst corpos, at the top of their food chain, truly have a happy ending.
And by then, they’re fucked enough in the head that they’re still not satisfied with it lol

Regular folks can live normal lives and have normal shitty jobs. Even gang members usually only worry about attacks from outside their circle. In a corpo life everyone either wants your job, wants to use you to further their job or is planning to use you to save their job. Oh and the other companies also hate you.

as an irl evil corpo, i endorse this message 🤷♀️

With a massive possibility of you having the biggest target on your back from thugs and your coworkers

Yes and no. Ironically, while corporations as a whole do extremely well and win in the end, the individuals who make them up do not.
They might acquire wealth and power, certainly, but there’s no happy ending for them either. They’re still cogs in the machine at the end if the day. Their lives are constant stress in a far-too-literal cutthroat environment. A moment of weakness, a brief lapse of attention, and someone will knock them out of their way.
Not even the heads of the corporations are exempt. Richard Night was assassinated. All of the Arasaka family is embroiled in in-fighting and power plays. Myers is willing to risk kicking off a 5th Corporate War to cover her ass.

The secret good ending is taking the corpo path and not leaving it.

I mean, didn’t work out for Corpo V, Jenkins, Abernathy, Carter Smith, Frank Nostra, and depending on your choices, Anthony Gilchrist or Meredith. I would just move out of Night City.
