I ordered the game Outer Wilds (and was pretty excited about it). What I got instead was an Outriders disc and an Outer Worlds box. Two strikes! It wasn't the end of the world because I'm a collector, and Outriders is a decent game. I chose to keep this copy and opt for the right one later. Have you ever gotten screwed over by Gamestop's human error? How?

So you ordered Outer Wilds and got a case for Outer Worlds that contained a disc for Outriders. That is like 3 levels of fucked up.

Still a great game still play it
I recently ordered a used copy of Divinity Original Sin 2 and received the correct box with a copy of the first game in it. Submitted a help ticket for it and they sent me the correct game and told me to keep the incorrect one. I’m sure they can get you squared away pretty easily!

I will also say as an Outer wilds ~~cult~~ fan member. If you ever get stuck on something go to the subreddit and post your question. They are great at giving hints without telling you the answer outright.

I bought Metal Gear Solid 2 and got the demo disc instead. Took me a long time to figure out what I was doing wrong and why I couldn’t keep playing.

A while back I ordered the Deus Ex Human Revolution Directors Cut for my old PS3. They sent the non-directors cut (which was a diff, cheaper price) in the Director’s Cut box and I had to argue for hours with customer service that they sent me the wrong product. They never backed down and wouldn’t send a refund, so I never entered GameStop or ordered from them ever again. They said it was sent in a directors cut box, so it should be right. Their quality control and customer service have been shit for years.
Unless there’s something I’m missing, the only physical copy if Outer Wilds I see on their website is for PS5 or Switch and it’s $39.99. Outriders is $3.99. So by keeping this game you’re losing $30
It happens a lot at GameStop. In my life twice. I wanted kingdom hearts 2 back in 2007. They gave me KH 1, I thought kh2 was doing a replay of kh1. I was really being optimistic and knew it wasn’t true. At that time, the closest GameStop was like 33 minutes away from my house and I had get someone to bring there. The second time, was October of 2021. I wanted Shenmue 3, they game me the wrong disc and they didn’t even have a copy of Shenmue 3. I got my money back and extra 2 dollars.
