I found the first one they had under the black sticker the most interesting, having bought a "used" copy online only to see a "defective return" sticker.
Was this "refurbished"?
Replaced?
Did somebody lie about a defect for a return?
Already installed, so it works fine, thankfully.
Excited to finally play it!

Wow, come on Gamestop. I don’t understand why they couldn’t just place the sticker atop the old one.
But hey, congrats on landing the game, you’re going to have fun! 🙂
intresting!
that top one “Defective Return to WH”… i wonder if that means they reported it as nonfunctional to sony and then sold it as used… that’s probably not okay.
it reminds me of “stripped” books. ones where the covers are removed and sent to the publisher as proof of destruction and then sold out the side door at a steep discount for a 100% profit.
Stay shady, Gamestop.
Fun fact: most GameStop employees are more than willing you give you a few plastic sleeve for your game case. They usually have 1000s of them laying around the back (at least they did at the ones I went to back when I used to go). Anytime I got a game I’d ask for one to replace the sticker covered plastic.
I worked for about a year at my local GameStop. In that time I think I had four Store managers. While I can’t begrudge anyone working for that company being kind of checked out, you could immediately tell the efficacy of a given manager by whether or not they told you to remove the old stickers when a price changed, or to just put the new on top of the pile.
GameStop probably payed 5 dollars for it each time.
