Finally jumped into the world of Red Dead Redemption 2 after finishing the first one a few months earlier. Still looks fantastic today, runs beautifully on my modest system, and its mechanics are very detailed. Playing it first person for immersion too. Happy getting lost in this world for sure.

When I finish Watch Dogs 2, the next game I will play is Red Dead Redemption 2. I’ve been playing great open world games so far.
Games are past the point of graphics aging. It’s all diminishing returns now.
RDR2 is the best looking game I’ve ever played
It is a beautiful world
Biggest disappointment. Gun play is shit
Anytime someone complain that a modern game wasnt able to do some graphics that RDR2 did back in 2018, I love to point out that its unfair to hold other games to this games standards. Its too high above expectations.
And its not just about detail level and texture sizes. Its the hand-crafted details: For example forests looks naturally grown instead of looking like someone took a tree-brush and sprayed it over some terrain.
I loved the first rdr. Prob my fav game of all time. I just loved playing as John and his open hearted interactions with everyone. “Hey there Ms McFarlane” The story is epic and twists and turns and is really moving. I loved hunting and being out in the desert at night – it felt spiritual.
I never clicked with Arthur and his mumbling and found a lot of 2 a bit tedious. Arthur constantly whinges about the outlaw life but does nothing about it like a surly teen. And the Pinkertons are utterly incompetent. They find Arthur right near the gang camp but confront him to do a deal instead of following him to Dutch? The camp isn’t even concealed in any way – they would have been found within a week IRL. It never felt real to me.
