I was taking my son to school this morning and saw this disgarded on a lawn in front of an apartment building. I didnt take it because i was worried about roaches or bed bugs or something but when my son got out of school he messaged me that it was still there. So i said f it and he brought it home (but left it outside). I was thinking about wrapping it in a heavy duty garbage bag and dropping a can of raid in there or something. Any suggestions? I havent got home yet to see if its messed up but my son said it has some weird spots, maybe mold.

I’d be worried why someone left it in the first place and why it’s still there.
I commend you for your bravery.
I automatically assume used furniture is discarded because someone shit all over it making it biohazardly unusable.
Good luck though.
Let’s see if your kill death ratio improves now
I would just clean it, friend. I wouldn’t worry about bombing it with chemicals that might harm the materials.
Better than virtually all “gaming” chairs out there. Nice pickup, assuming you sit in it and everything seems OK.
check for bed bugs. highly unlikely someone would throw that out.
also did it have sign that said free on it?
next concern would be biological matter on the chair. like i took a dump in my chair so yeah i dont want it anymore.
I recently found a chair similar to this. Structurally it looked fine, it just was covered in bird shit. I already have a good chair but was thinking I could toss this in my architecture studio so I have one there. I’m honestly thinking I’ll just hose it off and scrub it.
“Lightly shat office chair” vibes
Sell it on fb marketplace. Someone else’s problem
Man that is some nice looking grass..
If there are any broken bits, replacement parts are available for those things. I have two and have had to to some minor part swaps after 25 years of service…
Ny back hurts just looking at that lumbar support.
Edit: This is a personal preference, as the Herman Miller Aeron hurts my back. I had to get a Haworth Fern. Sorry my fellow redditors, didn’t mean to diss on anyone’s chair 🤷🏻♂️
Hey! I got one of those. It was sitting in a warehouse for 8 years unused. Great chair! Enjoy!
Everyone in here claiming it was probably shat in are jealous. 😆
Nice! A neighbor of mine did the same thing and I just dragged it home, cleaned it up and have been using it as my second office chair since then. The only issue was some plastic was broken, so the bottom mesh is flat instead of curved.
I found mine in a barn. It was a gem in a large pile of old, black office chairs that turned white from bird shit. Surprisingly unscathed. Got the go-ahead to take it home. Several rounds of bleach and soaking in heavy duty cleaners and letting it “mellow” out in the summer sun for a couple weeks, a few replacement parts, and now it’s my daily driver. Enjoy, just be diligent.

Do, do they grow these?
If you decide to pick it up.. clean it bro, don’t listen to these idiots. Who knows what could be on it, use alcohol on the metal & clorox wipes on the rest.
Full of arsenic lead cobalt mercury cyanide astatine radium copernicium and microplastics
This looks like the kind on military bases.
I have a used aeron as my pc chair and it’s still solid 10 years after I received it. My only complaint is the arm rests slowly slide down with use so I have to readjust them every other day.
I feel bad for the guy who takes my discarded gamer chair in the future

A chair
Reminds me of working in the office
Now you get aim bot and wallhack
wth lol 😂
This chair resembles a catapult from this perspective. Load it up, I wana see it fling someone across a room.
Is that for sex or executions?
Put a black light on it bet it glows from space .
Update: i bought a cheap steam cleaner from harbor freight, used some LA’s Awesome cleaner, a brush, and microfiber towels. Took it all apart, removed the mesh, and cleaned every inch of it. The only part that looked iffy were the arm rests as they had spots that looked like mold. The rest just looked like caked on dust and it didnt smell.
I didnt sit it in though. Didnt want anything on my clothes. The switches on the left felt rough but im not sure how they should feel. The right switch that handles the height felt fine but when I pushed the height down, it would raise back up. I looked for replacement parts on the herman miller website but they only had casters. Not sure what part i would need to change so the height will stay where i set it. I figure the gas cylinder is fine since it goes up and down ok. Any ideas?
For a second I though this is just another courier’s package dropoff shenanigan.
