Hi all
So i'm running a Gigabyte B650 Aorus Elite AX, 7800x3d, eVGA3080 and 4 sticks of Corsair Vengeance 6000 CL36 16gb ram (CMH32GX5M2D6000C36, 2 kits)
I was having black screen issues in games a few days ago and pretty much narrowed it down to ram quickly (been hit an miss since i added a second kit so i assumed it'd be ram crashing immediately)
Since i just flicked on XMP i figured the settings were unstable with 4 sticks so i embarked on getting it stable on default settings (which were training to 4800 30-30-30-58 at 1.1v – it needed a little bump in voltage and it stuck well)
Then i moved onto the XMP settings as a base.
Updated my bios to latest version
Noticed it pushing SOC to the 1.3v limit, so i set it 1.25v, with a PBO negative offset of -20, SOC sits at 1.2v (more pbo tweaking in future)
I pushed my ram voltage to 1.45v, speed to 6000 and started at 38-42-42-80 with auto timings on everything else, with my Fclk at 2033 also
I've tweaked it with a current speed of 6200 34-36-36-76 @ 1.4v (and a few sub timings lowered from the XMP profile and tREFI pushed up to 48000)
In Memory mark
Initial score was 3765/94th %
Current score is 4137/99th %

My question, should i really bother doing any more work? I'm not in it for every last FPS, rock solid would be my choice (currently had ycruncher running on these settings for a few hours without error) but there was a decent gain from the standard trained timings to even XMP (10-15FPS in games), i guess this would net maybe a couple FPS more and im probably hitting diminishing returns
Since i read that the 7800x3d likes tighter timings over speed and 6000 is the sweet spot, is it worth dropping back down to 6000 and trying for slightly lower timings, is there not much gain there?
I'd like to aim for a little less voltage (under 1.4v if i can get there, but it seems like up to 1.5v is fine for daily use anyway on DDR5? its hard to find conclusive information on what a good hard limit for everything use is) and a bit more playing with PBO (and maybe a little less SOC cause you know)
Oh and if anyone has any timing adjustments for secondary timings based on that zentimings pic, i'd love to hear them
Thanks!
