    The tomahawk is better value for money. You’re paying a lot for the Pro-Art branding imo.

    The trade-off is do you want Wi-Fi on your motherboard with a much faster LAN speed but with fewer connectors?

    Or do you want a slower LAN speed with no Wi-Fi but you have better connectors on the pro-art like thunderbolt?

    If you want Wi-Fi for your pc with the pro art board you’ll have to buy a pcie Wi-Fi card or a Wi-Fi dongle but it’s very inexpensive.

    I personally would go for the ~~thunderbolt~~ tomahawk as it’s slightly better value imo.

    Edit: a word and I got a few specs wrong but now corrected.

    only reason i bought a creator motherboard is i wanted the ability to add a thunderbolt addon card and wanted usb c fast charging ports.

    if you dont need that you probably dont need the creator motherboard.

    I personally LOATH ASUS…. I bought the x670e-f board and looked at the QVL to make sure the memory I bought would work. The memory WAS there…. After the first bios update the memory I was using was REMOVED from the QVL list. Which is the most scummy thing I have ever seen. Now my DDR5 6000 CL30 ram wont run anywhere near rated speed, I am stuck running it at 4800 with really shit timings. Luckily I am using the 7800x3d so memory really isn’t a huge difference in gaming performance as the Cache is doing the heavy lifting. But STILL. I am personally going back to MSI the moment I get the chance…. most likely when the 9800x3d drops I will buy it with an MSI board and be done with ASUS. Never gonna buy their trash ever again…. and it wasn’t just my board. My brother has the ASUS X670E GENE (the M-ATX monster board) and his too ended up removing memory from the QVL page after a few bios updates. So I know it wasn’t just me. I bitched online when It happened for me and many others noticed their memory was removed too…. its just scummy. Some blame it on AMD agesa updates…. but i haven’t heard of any other brand dropping memory support after a bios update…. its only ASUS…. and no, changing memory settings, doing custom timings, all that gear down bullshit, nothing fixes it. its just broken….

    and yeah, im talking AMD, but if they do it on AMD boards, they will probably do it on intel boards too….

    its like having 3 different car brands in America (plus a billion in imports) there is a need for this particular vehicle and people will buy and in this case its motherboards its just different needs and wants

    If I’m not mistaken… all the “creative” series motherboards support some form of thunderbolt. In other words, you can directly power a monitor from a single USB-C port. This feature alone is worth a few hundred dollars if you plan on connecting a drawing tablet or external monitor. All other motherboards with “USB-C support” are literally just for charging/data transfer :/

    Why are we still looking at $180 DDR4 boards in mid 2024? DDR5 is cheap enough as it is, especially if you’re already planning to drop close to $200 on a motherboard.

    They are both good on paper, MSi has built-in wifi if that’s important to you. The extra USB-C port and extra ethernet port on the Asus Proart board might tip the scales a bit if that’s more important to you than wifi.

    Stay away from Asus. I’ve had 3 Asus products (MB, GPU and a Phone). They started breaking the down the moment their warranty ended. One of the most scummy companies I’ve ever seen. My Strix 480 was by far the worst GPU I’ve ever owned.

    I’ve had only ASUS boards in my builds. I stand behind them. Same with their GPUs.

    OP, why not go with a board that supports DDR5?
