I'm the crazy lady who made the modded A2000 with a 6-pin power connector that performed way better than stock and set a world record for the card in Superposition.
That card died for reasons unrelated to the shunt mod (blunt force trauma [I dropped it]). I ended up selling the PCB on eBay and kept some of the modded parts in case I got another one someday.
So instead of getting another A2000 6GB, for the same price I got a 4060 Low Profile.
It's got an 8 pin and everything, and my SFF rig has a 600 80+ Platinum PSU from Supermicro.
The card runs pretty cool (60-70c) at stock, so I want to push it a bit more.
Problem is, I can't find the shunt for the 8pin. The PCIe shunt is a white SMD with "Q" on it.
But the 8-pin shunt is hiding. I think it's either not present or smaller than the shunts one would normally see, like those on my A2000.
Here's PCB pics id u/Buildzoid wants to take a look. Yes, I shorted the extra ground and ground sense, I cut that off my 6-pin cable for aesthetic reasons and don't want to put it back. I should clarify I plan on doing it a bit better by linking it to the 6pin ground like some PSU cables do anyway.
For anyone here to tell me it's a stupid idea and I shouldn't do it, I don't care and I'm gonna do it anyway 😝 I'm a scientist and tinkerer and I don't care if I sometimes have to break things for the sake of knowledge.
