I'm new to undervolting/OC, trying to figure out the works using the guide at https://www.overclock.net/threads/asus-maximus-z790-and-intel-i9-13900k-14900k-an-overclocking-and-tuning-guide.1801569/
Setup: i7 14700KF on ASUS Prime Z790M-Plus, latest BIOS.
So I'm still at the first stage, trying to figure out the lowest voltage to run stock clocks.
Power limits are set at stock values for this CPU – 307/253W 56s
CEP is disabled
Currently running stable with no OC and a moderate undervolt (LLM 4, AC LLC 0.18) – see screenshot. At full load both VRM heatsinks are cold enough to keep a finger pressed on them and the temperatures seem to be stable without throttling for the most part.
So at this point I have thermal headroom for OC, however for some reasons the CPU clocks never go beyond 5100-5200 Mhz – even when manually setting multiplier groups. This seems to be limited by max power at around 190W, which is not even close to any of the power limits. Resulting score at Cinebench 23 is around 34000. Is this all normal behavior, or am I missing something?
