I swear some of the Claire hate seems to miss that there’s an entire dialog option that let’s you talk her out of killing Sampson and helping her be better.

Honestly? Felt weird that you couldn’t just kill him *and* finish the race. I mean, besides the thing where you can turn any car into the vehicle of an English protestant with your mind.
What I expected (especially because I was already overtaking him anyways) is that you just drove next to him, and Claire would give him a bullet to the brain. Less cinematic, but it works.
Anyways, Murder Merc kills him because she got told to kill and that’s what she’ll do. On other characters, I try talking her out of it; I’m not big at all on the “revenge bad!” stereotype, but she sounds kinda sad afterwards. And I don’t want her to be.

As much as i like Claire, she is in the wrong, Sampson was right, it is a death race, if he died during the race it would have been fair game but he quit which makes it just a mindless revenge murder.
I didn’t kill him… also you get his car after a few days of waiting, otherwise you have to pay for it.

I don’t kill Sampson because I watched The Fast And The Furious and Days Of Thunder too many times and having a reputation as a competent street racer is way more appealing than being able to order drinks at the Afterlife.
