Finished it once as a kid and it feels like such a fever dream. I would love to experience it again, but I wish it was more convenient to access.

  1. its a shame that both this and Lost Odyssey never got ported or remastered. Lost Odyssey is such a good game with an amazing soundtrack, so is Eternal Sonata.

Oh wow I loved playing this game with my little brother. Super sad ending, but it really makes you miss the couch co-op era of games.

Licensing issues most likely prevents the game from being resold and I don’t see Namco releasing a remastered of this when they still haven’t released any of the Tales games stuck on the PS3. Your best bet is to buy a PC and play it through alternate ways.

I legit just picked up a PS3 copy off ebay for around $20 finally. Only played a bit of it back in the day but it’s an awesome game from what I remember. Really cool battle system.

Stuck but isn’t available through backwards compatibility on Xbox?

Also PS3’s are cheap and still great to play in 2024 ;P

I always wondered what would become of this series, I really wanted spin offs of some sort. The idea of so much being based around music, art, and rhythm. It just felt right, so calming.

    Beautiful artwork.

    Somewhat fun gameplay.

    Dumbest story ever.

  8. I mean it has a great soundtrack sure but that game was… fucking weird.

And I dont think it had huge sales so thats probably why its not getting any rerelease… there is not much people that are chomping at the bit to play it again.

Thus was is my first game purchase along with project gotham racing 4 and Halo 3 when I first got my console. Never did beat it, have always meant to though…

  10. PROTOSLEDGE

I’m sure there’s a way someone could cremulate it on a decent computer 🤔

All I keep thinking about in terms of the X360 is Lost Odyssey.

Now THAT is a game that I am not even sure how to play these days. Eternal Sonata I can emulate through RPCS3. Lost Odyssey I’d rather buy on Steam.

  12. GoldenAgeGamer72

Wow I forgot all about this. Good times.

  13. Wander715

Easily playable on a 360 or PS3 emulator. Emulation is the best form of game preservation.

  14. Chronotaru

This is one of the few games with an anime feel that actually worked. Most anime games are…wrong…somehow?

  15. CorgiDaddy42

Not every game needs to be remastered or re-released. You’ll be ok.

  16. Classic_Megaman

    Love this game so much.

Viola is probably top 3 most broken rpg characters ever. Just snipe everything for ridiculously over scaled damage.

One of those games that really made that generation special for me. I’d buy it in a heartbeat if they ever re-released it, but emulating has to do for now.

We need a final fantasy remake treatment of the legend of dragoon

  18. I rented this game as a kid when I had pinkeye and could not wear my contacts (and did not have glasses) I played this for an entire weekend sitting like 1 foot in front of the tv.

Then I forgot this game existed completely until last week, and now it’s appearing all over Reddit and I really want to play it again lol

  19. I bought this game twice, once on Xbox 360, then later when it released on PS3… Never finished it lol. If I recall, the battles were quite difficult (or I was just dumb when I was young and didn’t figure out how it worked).

Lately though, I’ve been poking around on my Xbox 360, so I might just give this game another attempt.

Also yeah, it is stuck on the consoles of that generation. Would be cool to see a remaster or something.

  20. RoundUpWeebKiller

IVE BEEN TRYING TO REMEMBER THE NAME OF THIS GAME FOR 5 YEARS

  21. Macho-Fantastico

I loved this game. It got me into Chopin’s music and I’d love to see a remaster. It was such a cool story concept and it’s a shame we never got more from the series.

  22. Plenty of games are stuck in Xbox360 and PS3 era. MGS4 never got a release on anything after the PS3.

  23. Nutcrackit

Honestly I wish all the old Xbox/PlayStation exclusives would get a remaster and ported to PC. It is nice PlayStation is starting to join the PC market but they got a ton of old games I would like to see officially on PC.

  24. Eccentricc

I used to play a game called star sonata

  25. Rebil2017

It was on PS Now back a few years ago, weird it’s not on PsPlus

  26. Lespaul42

I think it is available for streaming on whichever ps+ tier grants you that…

  27. Really_McNamington

In my case it’s on the shelf behind me on the left.

  28. airwick511

This is the game that gave my 360 the red ring of death. Ah good memories.

  29. Dont_have_a_panda

Everybody better assume that every single Namco Game not released on PC is currently stuck on that/those consoles and Will never come back (Tales of Vesperia is a very very rare exception)

  30. WhatsTheHoldup

What does that mean? Are we at the point where every single old game has to be remade?
