Question, why M.2 WiFi card? Why not just PCI WiFi card? The more lanes are free, the better?

I recommend getting an Intel Wi-Fi card. Usually others are junk.
I had to replace the mediatek Wi-Fi card that came with my Asus x13 laptop. The mediatek card was terrible.

A or E key slot, so not one that takes an M2 SSD.

That’s a Realtek card, I would recommend against using those they’re pretty unreliable. Get an Intel AX210 or something.

It goes in an E key M.2 slot.
It does not go in an M key or an M+B key M.2 slot, those are for SSDs.
