Does it make sense to buy 7900X over 9900X considering 7900X will get much cheaper in coming days?

So, there is a gap in the lineup and the same core count – but no one noticed.

They won’t be releasing two 8-core CPUs at once. Nor do they care to make 10 core ones to bridge the gap – cause can’t.

I have a 7800x3d. Definitely gonna wait for the next X3D version.

Seems disappointing? I’m already on a 7900x and I really see no reason to even consider upgrading, there’s just nothing really new here.

    Hmmm do I upgrade to a 7800x3d or a 9700x…..

So I built my current machine at the start of the pandemic using a 3700x, i’m thinking now is about the right time to update.

The big question is that with EVGA gone who do i go with for a GPU with good/domestic support? (tend to do x60 model cards and don’t know Team red’s scaling but would consider a switch for the right deal)

Even 7600 is an overkill for me. I will wait for 2027 and beyond, lol

I’m riding my 3950x until it dies lol

Now the real question is since my X370 broke and I wanna upgrade my PC anyways do I go get a new mobo and 5800x3d or jump to AM5

16% ipc is nice, but I’m already satisfy with the 7600

  12. Just waiting for the next gen cards to drop and then I’m building a new rig and giving mine to the kids. 3070/5600X, still a decent machine but does struggle to run many of the most modern games at 4K/60+.

Intel is removing hyperthreading on their mainstream CPUs AGAIN?

  14. beldzinka

    Just bought a 5800x3D I ain’t upgrading that shit

  15. HumonculusJaeger

I’m curious about the full spec 8 core xrd cpu.

7800X3D never looked so good. Fixing to upgrade out of this 4790k finally 💀

Now we can predict Userbenchmark post about this.

  18. YellowDhub

So wait 7900X has 170W and 9900X has only 120W?

Doesn’t that mean low temps but also lower performance?

  19. TorturedPoet03

I’m excited for them. I hope they will drop the X3D versions too. It will be very interesting to compare.

Literally the day after I buy a 7800X3D, great
