    Next:

Ubisoft Connect + EA + Gamepass + GOG

    (official releases for Linux please)

  2. Cause of the steam deck, not people switching their machine to linux lol.

Also what kind of recall did windows announce, I wasn’t aware that you can recall software?

  3. Wymberto_99

I asked yhe linux community which distro could replace windows for my use case. They straight up said none.

  4. Danteynero9

Man, the people saying “it’s people buying a steam deck”, seem to be unaware that it runs on linux. Not that I expected them to know anyway.

  5. Suspect4pe

Why is Windows being recalled? Is it dangerous?

Sorry, it’s where my brain went yesterday seeing Windows Recall in headlines. I totally forgot that their new AI product is called Windows Recall.

  6. DrKrFfXx

Thanks to Steam Deck, not some other ulterior conspiracy.

  7. RowlingTheJustice

Windows > Linux because of higher marketshare.

Then Barbie must be a better movie than Oppenheimer.

Windows gangs just admitted they’re barbies lol

  8. Altruistic-Wing-3131

Wow, that means that it went from 4 users to 5!!!

  9. WeakDiaphragm

The “Windows Recall” feature is a bad move by Microsoft but it won’t cause people to leave Windows for Linux. And as far as I understand, it will be available on W11 only and can be disabled by a single press of a button.

The Linux community is very secure with their niche role, they’re not trying to compete with Windows.

I will consider fully switching to Linux if nvidia will get their drivers to parity level with Windows. I also would love to have ray tracing, dlss and working multiplayer games so still around a decade of wait.

  11. InconceivableIsh

I jumped before they announced it. It really isn’t ready for most people yet. I came close a few times to jumping back to windows but managed to figure out the issue.

  12. YoImJustAsking

Linux users are so annoying. They are probably worse than apple users.

  13. rylie_smiley

It’s mostly due to the steam deck running on Linux. 4 people within my circles have gotten one in the past few months. Some people may switch due to Windows Recall but the vast majority of people really don’t care.

  14. aurichio

I’ve been reading about “this is the year of Linux on the desktop” since 2010, when I started using it for the first time. I’m sure I’ll still be hearing about it in another 15 years.

  15. doggiekruger

Why are Linux users always insufferable? Their whole personality is shitting on an OS

  16. agentblack000

Linux is a fantastic tool but realistically it’s not for normal daily use. I use WSL2 all the time, which gives me access to all the tools I need while still keeping Windows for regular tasks like gaming.

  17. BryAlrighty

Probably just because of SteamOS being arch Linux on Steam Deck.

  18. Far-Awareness8746

It was the steam deck being so good for gaming that made me move over to Linux on my main pc. The only problem has been the Nvidia driver not being up to the standards of the windows version.

  19. AzertyKeys

That’s not what this image macro is supposed to be used for

  20. ConfirmPassword

And here i am rocking Win 10 v1909, probably wont update it ever.

  21. ohthedarside

All this growth is literally people buying the steamdeck a total of 15 people have actually moved to linux

  22. monsterfurby

Isn’t Microsoft Recall just basically the same as the MacOS app Rewind? That’s actually one I *wish* had a Windows version.

  23. paintpast

Except Windows 11 also gained market share on Steam, too. This meme makes no sense.

  24. wulfboy_95

Can confirm. There’s been an influx of new Linux users asking for help on various online forums.

  25. DinosaurGuy1997

I ain’t against other people using Linux, but frothing at the mouth over it like it’s the return of Jesus Christ isn’t a good look for people considering switching.

I use Linux for server hosting, but personally, as a main OS I use windows because of compatibility and the fact I can run super duper old software on it.
