because the markup is so high, they get those for a buck or two. and sell to you at 10 dollars.

Wow this type of game here in Spain in my city I saw all of them at prices between 1€ euro to 5€ euros. And I am not kidding.

It’s old people. Old people play these to death. My grandfather passed away a while back and had a whole CD case full of these. My great grandmother is nearly a hundred and needs help going to the bathroom, but she still plays solitaire and Bejeweled every single day.
People with dementia often have poor motor skills and lack the ability to learn new pastimes, but the basic ability to spot differences, match colors, and solve simple puzzles is deeply ingrained.
I remember buying Mafia when it released, there were two options, the big box and the small box, the big box was full price, I don’t remember if 70 or 60, the small box (CD case with a sleeve) was 9.99. I obviously got the 9.99 version

I can believe they still exist. A few of the free games you get from Prime Gaming are these types of games. They’re sold on sites like Legacy Games and Big Fish Games. I always felt they’re a bit pricey for the content you get, but I guess there are people who are willing to pay for them.

Walmarts near me usually have older titles civ 5, gta 5, etc. I saw a few more modern games and likely will just be a steam code. I have a civ 5 box but i think even that just came with a code. I dont believe i have the disc if it came withh one.
I have always loved hidden object games, the ones with inventory, and a story. Super cheesy, but a great turn off your brain and beat it in an hour style fun game.
It’s not like it’s fresh and replenished stock, those very items have been sitting on those shelves at Walmart for 20 years. Someday the corporate merchandise system is going to notice, but until then, enjoy the time capsule of a simpler time!

I worked in a computer repair shop years ago and boomers are OBSESSED with this shit. I would see them on people’s computers constantly, especially the hidden object genre.
Tbh I’m glad they sell them in stores cuz a lot of the time they end up with malware while trying to download more.
