I have back problems so I hate computer desks and “gaming” chairs. This is my versatile and comfortable solution.

Couch doesn’t seem like it has good lumbar support. Are you sure this is better for your back? Is this what your healthcare provider suggested?

  2. Wouldn’t a good ergonomic office chair be a lot better for your back than a couch? I always get slight back pain when I sit to long on mine but never had that problem on my chair.

Don’t really think those pillows are doing anything even if they are “lumbar support” ones, your back and hip/legs are still in a terrible position.

If you want the best solution it would be an adjustable desk so you can sit or stand, a lot of these are electronic so you don’t have to move it by hand and a proper ergonomic office chair like a Herman Aeron miller, this will have your back and knees in the proper place for lumbar support.

Gaming chairs feel like sitting on cement after using the Herman.

Is that the corsair wireless keyboard and lapboard combo? My keyboard died after 7 months and they’re not sold anymore. I upgraded to the cycon couchmaster and it’s leagues better I highly recommend it. If the tv is too far away. You could also use a side table mount with a portable monitor and a long hdmi cable to run along the skirting them you can park your rig in the corner out the way

I loved the versatility that the Corsair lapboard offers, and it was insanely comfortable with the bottom gel padding – I just despised how loud the keys are and how easily they bottom out. It also kills me that the only other competitor on the whole market was Roccat and they discontinued the product.

What Corsair should’ve done was made it adjustable so other keyboards could snap into it, instead of just the K63

As a fellow lounge gamer, nice set up. Mines not that fancy just a support arm stuck on a nearby table 😂

    *looks more closely*

    Is that reused medical equipment?

  7. Sufficient_Serve_439

I have TV connected to computer as second monitor so I can use Steam big picture or control home Cinema with wireless mouse without bothering where the desktop stands, but yeah, this is also a great option.

Tell ya, every time I’ve seen a cheap tiny desk on wheels when furniture shopping, I bought it, currently using them all and added wheels to an old rotating TV stand so I can place it anywhere I need too.

You can never have enough wheeled furniture.

I thought that was the research station in Starfield at first glance.

Portable desk nice idea. I built my own leather gaming chair from a car seat (photos are on reddit). Arent those carts expensive?

  10. ZeroNine2048

This is a terrible idea if you have back problems

  11. DizzySkunkApe

This is worse than a desk though… For everything except the parts of sitting that are worst for gaming!

  12. agemennon675

That coach would hurt your back so much more compared to an ergo chair and adjustable standing table

  13. Noff-Crazyeyes

Might be the most expensive desk ever enless you work for that company

  14. Hooligans_

I bet your whole life revolves around your “back problems” then you play games on that damn sofa.Your poor spouse.

  15. RelativeWrong4232

A Herman miller chair would be better probably

  16. Nikolas_Coalgiver

It’s that a bogey for medical ultrasound equipment?

  17. volticizer

What have you got your keyboard and mouse on there? I’m looking for something so I can play games that don’t have controller support on the couch, this looks like a good solution.

  18. A used herman or steelcase would be better in the long run

  19. darklyger64

I have a bad back as well, haha I don’t think I can use PC while lying down. At least not comfortable for me. Love that you made a unique solution to your problem. Have you tried lumbar support solution and seat cusion? They work for me at a certain extent, at most 4-6 hours, then I don’t feel good again.

  20. TriIIuminati

An alternative also exists in the form of a regular office chair, not a “gaming” one.Lumbar support is love

  21. juerissaar

Seems comfy AF but lumbar support pillows don’t do much if they sink in couch.

For a long run forget gaming chairs (“modern gaming chair” is invention by car seat manufacturer DXRacer to sell agressive looking chairs to gamers who love rgb and other stupid shit, when the car sales dropped in 2006. They heavily marketed their shit and everyone started to copy them. These bucket seats are most uncomfortable seats available and is meant to give maximum ass feel from the car) Over time there is good “gaming chairs” produced but these prices can’t compete with office chairs.

Get good Office chair with adjustable lumbar and neck support and adjustable desk. Ofc it comes with a price tag but will save you a lot from medical expenses. Have back problems myself (3 fractured spine discs and lucky enough to walk properly)

  22. WarpCitizen

More like “I want to be disabled for the rest of my life” setup

  23. Dalminster

Do you… Do you put the keyboard on your lap or something?

I am beginning to see why you have back problems.

  24. mrchuckbass

Your addressing a symptom instead of the root cause. This will give you even more pain in the future.

  25. CanadaSoonFree

Stand up desk + a proper comfy ergonomic chair will be infinitely better than this.

  26. Crazy_Management_806

no wonder you have back problems, jesus.

  27. thehotdogman

I have a degenerative spine condition and have suffered back pain for years and this is absolutely a fucking terrible set up. If you showed any PMR doctor, spine doctor, or PT this photo they’d immediately tell you this is going to make things worse. This is awful for you and I genuinely hope you get some professional guidance.

  28. BakuretsuGirl16

Those ergotron wow carts with integrated ups are expensive, lol

I wonder if we’re looking at a hospital it guy

  29. mischievouscutback

No way you do all of this just to play video games?

  30. I suggest standing if you have back problems. Any kind of sitting is bad.

  31. Good gaming chairs are definitely more ergonomic than your setup. At least they are adjustable and with lumber support

  32. If you get cut and bleed. Does blood come out or is it more of a red coloured syrup?

  33. permathis

I have a recliner I sit in at my PC. I just put it to the side, and I have a tray under my desk that pulls out that I bought. Mouse goes on the tray, wireless keyboard in my lap and I’ll never go back to regular office or gaming chairs.

Super comfortable as well, since it leans back when I want and sits up when I don’t. Great to watch movies in VR with.

  34. SpecialMango3384

You steal that from your doctors office?

  35. The_Pvthfinder

Never let cancer stop you doing anything ✌🏼

  36. I had back problems till i got myself a “gaming” chair. My back and right shoulder actually scream at your setup.
