They waited 2 years to the day to announce this?

  2. VaxSaveslives

I thought the games cause mass shootings argument was long dead

  3. Extension-Novel-6841

I feel for the families so much BUT this isn’t Activision and Metas fault.

  4. clancyjarvis

They should be putting this energy towards the spineless cops who didn’t do anything about it.

  5. Panda-Banana1

Next thing we know they will be suing rock musicians because it promotes violence… thought we were way past this.

  6. Schubert125

So by that logic I should have spider powers because I’ve been playing through Spider-Man 2 again, right?

  7. lambofgun

its weird because those people went through hell that i couldnt even imagine, so i feel guilty having an opinion on this lawsuit, but… man, its such horseshit.

  8. SpasticHatchet

If shooting games make killers, then I’m a commercial pilot. I demand my $200,000 a year

  9. I_Don-t_Care

Bad parents breed bad children, they can point fingers all they want and fuck activision as a company, but hell will freeze over before I give these parents any reason

    > The lawsuit blames both companies for promoting weapons to young men

    > The lawsuit claims both companies “knowingly exposed the Shooter to the weapon, conditioned him to see it as the solution to his problems, and trained him to use it.”

    > the families accuse Activision and Meta of “grooming” young men and putting them on a path toward violent acts.

    > the lawsuit alleges that “the shooter was being courted through explicit, aggressive marketing” on Instagram that showed “hundreds of images depicting and venerating the thrill of combat.”

    > the families of the Uvalde victims are also suing Daniel Defense, the gun company that made the AR-15 used in the shooting. The lawsuit alleges Daniel Defense promotes its weapons to minors on Instagram through posts “glorifying” combat.

    > “Instagram should stop enabling the marketing of AR-15s to kids by gun companies; and Activision should stop training and habituating kids to kill. It’s that simple.”

    It all sounds so stupid.

    > The complaint was filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court

The only way it could succeed is if it was filed in a blue city with activist judges and lawyers working together. Not a surprise at all.

If thats how things worked then my 6000+ hours in kerbal space program would have gotten me a job at nasa already.

  12. I-Am-Baytor

They won against Spongebob Jones, now they’re going for the video games.

  13. Stupid logic, but at least these companies will lose money.

  14. ppbig139

love how the gov in murika would do anything to stop school shooting rather than banning guns. Also its not the fault of the games, its the fault of the parents if ur kid grows up to be a school shooter. Its like the same thing that happened to youtube, parents just give their phones to kids with youtube on rather than youtube kids and then when they get bombarded with adult ads, the parent tries to blame youtube for it lol. If u cant handly a kid, dont make one.

  15. kingOofgames

Suing a game company is just plain stupid. Does not make any change at all.

  16. highonpetrol

The families who did this are a disgrace. Any judge should throw this out. They are essentially grasping at straws trying to get any money they can from the wrong sources.

    >Koskoff previously won a $73 million settlement for the families of Sandy Hook school shooting victims from gun manufacturer Remington.

Ah that explains it. So the brutal reality of this is the families affected was approached by a legal firm telling them they will make whatever work and that there’s precedent for a millions dollar big settlement from recent years.

    Families obviously accept this.

Hence it’s including **everyone** possible, including and most importantly, the gun manufacturer of AR-15’s.

So yeah, no shocker there really.

  18. weebu4laifu

It’s not the fault of the guns either. It’s the people using them. THAT’S the point everyone always misses. It’s like the saying, does a tree falling make ang sound if no one is around to hear it? (We know the answer is yes but that isn’t the point I’m making). Can a gun kill someone if no one is holding it? No. A gun is nothing but a tool and how it’s used dependa on the person holding it.

And for all you *idiots* (yes I’m going to go there) saying “MaKe MoRe LaWs” CRIMINALS ARE CRIMINALS BECAUSE THEY DON’T CARE ABOUT AND FOLLOW THE LAW. So by making more laws, all you’re doing is making LAW ABIDING OWNERS CRIMINALS.

Maybe if you did some actual research and listened to someone who actually knows what they’re talking about instead of some dubass career politician, a media controlled by the government that spreads so much misinformation or outright lies (look up how the CBS show 60 minutes lied when they did a stpry about the Audi 500 jumping into gear on it’s own) that it’s a fucking joke, or an agency that keeps making laws when it literally isn’t allowed to do so ACCORDING TO THE CONSTITUTION, who also doesn’t know what their doing or talking about (yes I’m talking about the ATF) and has lost or had guns stolen on so many occassions they can’t even keep track of how many, you would understand.

  19. HighCaliberBullet

    Such a frivolous lawsuit.

If a gun company should be sued by anyone. It’s Hi-Point. Shitty guns, unreliable and are the most commonly used guns in crime related incidents. /s

Daniel Defense makes great AR’s. Would buy if I wasn’t loyal to Sig Sauer.

  20. Disaterman

Why is it never the company that sold the gun, the business that sold them bullets, or the people who did improper background checks?

  21. FuckTrump74738282

When can we start suing republicans for school shootings

  22. MaxHedrome

Lawfirm grifts 45 grieving, first gen, migrant families

    More at 11

  23. Wolfbeerd

Any lawyers want to help me sue diageo and Ford for leading a drunk driver right down a path that killed my dad?

  24. TheDevilsCunt

They’ll do everything aside from voting out the soulless fucks that take hundreds of thousands from the NRA to keep their schools a warzone

  25. splendidpluto

Oooh go after D&D next! I love seeing a dead horse beaten thoroughly

  26. Aggravating_Key_3831

Man if only there was an age rating system for games like movies have so they can tell both parents and children that this media they’re about to consume is made for adults in mind and that the content is unsustainable for children to watch.

  27. Themetalenock

americans will blame literally anything except the fact that big bubba has a armory in his jerk off shed is the reason little billy died bleeding out on the floor instead of living a happy and long life

  28. And god forbid when we play farming simulator we get seud since we learned how to plow and rake and destroy the world with corn

  29. Chakramer

If games made people murderous, we’d be seeing a lot more streamers who play games 8 to 12 hours a day committing a lot more crimes.

  30. PastPriority-771

Shit like this only adds fuel to the fire. I understand the pain and emotional anguish of losing a child this way, but filing frivolous suits does nothing but make the cause look bad.
