So many hours spent in the arcade on these games for me.
Gauntlet dark legacy is legitimately one of the greatest couch co-op games of all time. I played it for hours upon hours growing up with my brother on the gamecube and never got tired of it. You had secret characters you could unlock, secret codes you could input to get different outfits for the main cast, great bosses, and just hoards of enemies that you mowed down which was insanely fun. Phenomenal game.
My best friend and I put hundreds if not thousands of hours on Dark Legacy. One of my all time favorite games. Used to have an all day marathon every few years. Need to have one now…

A friend of mine once described Gauntlet Legends as a “Medieval Jogging Simulator” and I thought that was one of the funniest things I’d heard at the time.

What, no NES version? That’s the best console version, IMO.
Edit: I’m not sure why liking Gauntlet on the NES is something to be downvoted.
The Gamecube version was my favorite of the Dark Legacy’s because you could control your inventory usage. Mainly the death crown. You could turn it off and on when you needed it and could save it for several death encounters instead of getting a crown and having to quickly find a death and hope it didnt run out.
I also spent waay too much money playing the arcade cabinet of Dark Legacy. I think I must have maxed out almost every character and their alternate.
Valkyrie is about to die! Ugh. I loved this game but sucked at it so badly. So many quarters spent. OG arcade version.
Is there anyway to get this game on console? I’ve done some looking but haven’t found anything.
I have been playing this on my Steam Deck all week and it is still just as fun as it was back then.
The 64 version was great. Glad I had that system. The PlayStation version is pretty terrible
Only had Gauntlet Legends. Man that game was a blast. 100% had forgotten about it till this post.
I loved this series, my friends and I dumped countless hours on weekends into these games.
Dark legacy is fucking awesome. So many hours playing coop with my friends.

My mother and I used to play the 64 version. We had separate save files for each combination of the characters we could play together. <3
i thought about this game about 3 days ago but couldnt for the life of me remember the name! i use to love this game back in the day i played on N64 with a friend. i always wanted to replay this game and also i never knew there was any other version then N64.

Played this religiously with my uncle and grandma growing up! The only game EVER my grandma got really into with us. She still talks about it to this day. Excellent memories of sitting around a tv in my uncles room snacking on grapes and everything under the sun playing with them. Thanks for the reminder OP!

My brother and I used to rent gauntlet 64 all the time. Probably one of our most rented games when I was a kid. I didn’t find out about dark legacy until way after its release. I should go find a copy and bust my GameCube out of storage.
