Windows is fine once you disable all the creeper shit and stay on LTSC updates.
Linux distros are fine. Only problems I’ve ever had were created by my changing something low level that then would break some update. Now I just leave is alone and run my programs. Never have any problems.

As a gamer, it’s easy easier for me to just block updates, bloatware and spyware from windows than learn a completely different OC with its own limitations and problems. At least Window’s problems are relatively easy to fix.

That’s odd. I’ve always found FOSS Unix-like operating systems much easier to use than Windows. Even if you have to read some documentation, at least there’s a way to do something that isn’t possible at all on Windows.
I am a CLI-first user, though. So maybe that’s where I’m confused.
Also, for that matter, there is plenty of software. “Most software” you use may not run on Linux. By the same token we have plenty of great software you can’t use (although there are efforts to change that, which is a good thing).
I’d sooner rather daily drive something like OpenBSD than Windows.
