Since people seem to like flags in the PUBG killfeed, i gave it a shot a few weeks ago myself – but i soon was disappointed a bit by the stuff that people use and distributed so far

Why don't use some existing ones?

The idea of Kowo (see the following Video) is an absolute mess and more like a proof of concept, every flag has a different aspect ratio and the feed looks aweful and also when playing duos, you ran out of icons pretty quick

Later u/ciseur created another set that solved one of those issues, but unfortunately the flags are very small and especially in the spectator mode and observer cam in higher resolutions they look aweful

Also there are a few others out there, that also try to solve the problem but also are either to low resolution or get distorted and squished, since they don't have the proper aspect ratio or clearance.

Yes, i'm aware that some flags are still a bit swished and wonky, but you only can use one file here and it needs to work in multiple sizes and vector graphics are not supported – so this is the trade-off to avoid getting cancer by looking at it and yet are OK without being distorted

Compatibilty

It is compatible to the packs by Kowo and Ciseur

Since a few of the flags are not even sovereign states or even countries (the IOC and the pirate flag, seriosly …) and also some flags are very hard to distinguish in the corner of your eye (turkey and china for example) i thought about changing the flags to more unique flags at certain places – but that would break backwards compatibility

so i did the reasonable thing, even if the standard sucks, stick to it 🙂
