how you guys feel about voxel games? i have not seen many but i do love what little i see of it

Honestly, while it’s beautiful, I think it’s a bit too finicky, too small, too long to make, too precise for the average minecraft players to be interested. The majority of the fanbase if minecraft are raised on a fast-dopamine level of media and quick building, this take too much time to make something.

    Just my opinion

Looks like Minecraft and Teardown had a baby. I’d play it.

See, here’s the thing.. I’ve played loads of minecraft. And i will never get enough of the plopping sound blocks make. Or the little “taptaptap” you hear with the axe.

The whipping sound this axe made got stale in half a minute.

Whenever you have a game that repeats any noise thousands of times, that noise needs to be super inoffensive. And I feel this isn’t.

The game itself looks like fun. Especially if it acts more like a Minecraft 1.0. without nightmares or drowned. But the sound would eventually really start to bother me. That’s why I wouldn’t buy the game shown here.

Given how many cuts he has to make building that house, I would say that even developer is impatient and that is never a good thing/sign if you want to show how fun it is. Plus it’s too finicky with the whole process of select this, select that, click here, click there, drag this slider and drag that slider to get something right instead of just placing the damn block. Something that I truly disliked is that it isn’t simple in design 15.4k “blocks/pixels?” in your inventory means absolutely nothing to me as I don’t know how many I’m placing down.

This game is going to fail hard.

I feel like it would just take waayyyy tooo long to do anything. One of the beautiful things about MC is that you can spend 20 seconds building a house, or 20 days, your choice.

I need steal a computer from NASA for playing this.

  8. The developer needs to work on better building experience, maybe create templates for common structures like tables windows doors roofs etc.

Also, need good terrain generation and exploration overall.

It’s an interesting seed, but it’s still very early stage.

The artistic style is nice though

  9. I’m sure someone will like it but it looks like they’ve tried to improve by adding more, when one of the biggest strengths of Mincecraft is it’s simplicity. Sure, you can do more with this system, but it’ll take many times longer. The bottle neck ceases to be creativity and becomes human endurance.

Looks pretty but damn does it look annoying to play.

Vintage Story is a grown up Minecraft. Tons of fantastic and engaging features (seasons, food decay, animal domestication, microblock chiseling, cool ruins, to name a few), and no microtransactions! I highly recommend this game to any veterans of Minecraft who feel like the game has become stale.

Looks interesting, I would check it out if it reaches full release. Never been a fan of asking people to pay a monthly subscription to alpha or beta test the game for you, But everyone seems to be doing it these days. If it releases at a reasonable price and isn’t in early access for all eternity when it releases, I’d buy it to try.

  13. NerfAkira

Ya uh… minecraft is popular because of its baseline simplicity. This looks like overdesigned antifun garbage

If done right this game will see success, but it will never be Minecraft, and I doubt it’s meant to be. Minecraft’s universal appeal comes from it’s fundamental simplicity.
