The development history of Elite Dangerous shows this boneheaded leadership style pretty well.
It’s supposed to be their “baby”, but has been mismanaged practically from the start.
It’s a shame to see what could have been a great game drown in bad executive decisions.
Judging from their games, Frontier’s motto might as well be *”All that potential… wasted”*.

This story irritates me because Frontier makes Elite Dangerous and Planet Zoo yet they are identified as the “F1 Manager Developer”. Like of all the games to pick.

I guess us planet coaster fans will have to wait even longer for the sequel.

Frontier is an absolutely shit company.
David Braben promised an immersive space sim where you were more than a cockpit to sell Elite. Then we got 1984 game play reskinned in HD and layered over with garbage tier rng grind.
Meanwhile, Braben took money made by Elite and used it to secure licenses fir their garbage tier movie tie in park management games.
It wasn’t until their reputation for utter mediocrity began to catch up to them and the IP licensing dried up, that Frontier circled back to Elite, desperate to milk it. So now they sell ships for real money that cannot be unlocked in game until months later.
Fuck Frontier. This company deserves to due. I’m sorry for the developers, but I’ll celebrate if the company itself goes bankrupt.
