If I hadn’t have had so many games still on my Xbox account I’d probably sell my Xbox if stuff like this continues. There’s no good games that aren’t already on ps I just mainly use my Xbox as my Yakuza machine rn because of Gamepass

Can someone explain if my logic is flawed but surely if you want successful games you need studios to build a reputation for solid games yeah hi-fi rush didn’t sell well but it’s a great game their next game would likely do better thanks to the reception from the previous game?

It’s morally a dick move, but from a business standpoint, it’s not wrong.
Microsoft screwed up and overblew their budget by buying too many game companies, and then they ended up with too much dead weight that was underperforming and costing them the bottom line in profits.
It’s a tough pill to swallow, but the best choice to make is to cut off dead weight of those that are not performing as needed.
I just wish they didn’t act like Embracer and just buy up a bunch of businesses, since they thought that would look good for their missing library to get people to sign up for Gamepass.
I suspect this will bite them when it comes to releasing Call of Duty. It won’t sell the massive hundreds of millions like they hope, since people will just play it for free off gamepass.
It’ll be interesting to see how Microsoft responds to single handedly crippling CoD sales, thinking it was a quick cash cow.

Finally got my friend group to switch to PlayStation. I tried back in 2013 but riding on the high of the 360 era we all stuck with Xbox as the primary console…. This week I didn’t even have to say anything lol. I made the switch myself in February. Microsoft has officially killed the Xbox brand, at least for me.
I’m riding out my 1.5 years of game pass before I sell my Xbox but heck I don’t even want my primary save files on my Xbox. I started euyiden chronicles on game pass but then thought to myself. Do I really even want my main save file stuck on my Xbox?

Do we know whether everyone in the studios was just fired or if it is just a re-org? MS has major reorgs every couple of years. I can totally see them deciding that they need more people in another studio, and just disbanding this one and moving everyone to that one.
