Do they have singleplayer campaign or is it purely PVP? Can’t tell from the description on steam

This was my first game in the 90s

Pathways into Darkness has been free for a *while*.
But yeah, Marathon etc are fucking awesome.
Fun fact: This game is the first FPS ever made with a “replay” mode, where you could watch a playback of your game with a free-roaming camera. It basically recorded every action taken into a text file and then freshly rendered it all on the fly. Brilliant.
Shame where Bungie has gone. They were innovators and inventors who valued story above all else. Now they seem to value microtransactions above all else, and all else above having a comprehensible story.

Heads-up tonight is a game night for the marathon discord in marathon 1

I loved these games so much back in the day. I definitely have to see how they’ve held up all these years.

How is it playing out of the box? Only really played it using Aleph One.
EDIT: Just saw that this is from the Aleph One devs. Good shit.

I have a friend who had a PC, and I’d go over to his house and play games on his PC all the time, but Marathon was the only game where he ever came over to my house to play a game on my Mac.

[Here’s Aleph One’s website, if you wanted to try Durandal and Infinity right now.](https://alephone.lhowon.org/)
Playing these games for *too* long always gave me a bit of motion sickness, but they’re certainly worth trying, especially if you’re a Halo fan.

These games are fucking amazing and I’m of the belief that if they’d not been on Mac OS they’d be some of the most influential games of all time.

Marathon was my fucking JAM.

The only one I ever played was the 360 port of Marathon 2: Durandal. I remember playing it quite a bit, it will be cool to check out the first game
