I used to get PlayStation Magazine with demo discs.
Get off my lawn.

Remember when game informer had cheat codes in the back

I wish I took care of my gaming magazines growing up. Ended up tossing them years ago. I had a subscription to Game informer. I preferred getting PlayStation magazine with the demo discs. Those were the days.

Hey, I had no idea that magazine lasted until BOTW. I still have my copies of that with Ocarina of Time and Metal Gear Solid on the cover. I recently used the Turok 2 strategy guide in one cause there aren’t any good online ones. 😛

End of an era? That era ended an era ago. Who is still pooping with magazines?
Do you guys not have phones?
Edit: how many people downvoted this on their phone while pooping, I’m dying to know

For me the era ended when Nintendo Power shut down.
Had gameinformer for a while but it just wasn’t the same.

I miss the demi disc that came with the PS magazine. I tried so many games I never would. I remember playing the metal gear sold demo so many times.
I’m glad some games are having demos again.

Wish I till had mine. We had a pipe burst that flooded through the wall into my closet water damaging just about all of them.

I used to own like 40 of these back in the day, good memories!

I remember Gameinformer was my only news outlet for gaming before I even knew what the internet was

We would argue the era ended when the Power was discontinued

Holy fuck I haven’t thought of Game informer is ages.

I remember being a kid and being so hyped when we got one in the mail.

If they stop making paper magazines it’s for the better at the end of the day. So much unnecessary waste. I did enjoy very much reading it though! But times change and we have to accept that it’s not a sustainable practice to crank out millions of copies of a magazine that’ll be thrown away in a month.
Revolutionary-Ice896
I still have 2 magazines from them in rough condition but it was donated from library for free so I snagged them while I could

You can subscribe to them directly now and not go to GameStop.

Lowkey miss the innocence of seeing art work at the front sent by 5 year old kids trying to draw Zelda or Master Chief. I miss magazines like that in general where they show fans being fans.
I had a stack of of them (probably 50 lbs worth) that I saved over the years. I had to send them to the recyclers place when I moved (2 moves ago). Worse was the Nat. Geo that I had saved almost 20 years…but had no choice.
Kojima_Fanatic
I remember intermittently buying Tips and Tricks. A magazine JUST for cheat codes and guides. I think it has some reviews and such too.

I remember my copy of gameinformer that was highlighting this new cool game called Skyrim

I used to sub to EGM for YEARS… it all started when I was a teenager waiting in the dentist office waiting room and one issue caught my eye cuz it had video game characters on the cover (most of the stuff there was sports and national geographic). I flipped through until I found a page with a picture of Kazumi from Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball lol. I snuck it in my coat and took it home as jerk off material but I eventually subbed to it and enjoyed it for years. I especially loved Sean Baby’s “Rest of the Crap” segment at the end. Dude was fucking hilarious. Wish I held onto them, they’d make for a good time capsule.

I remember my Xbox mags that had an…interesting back page to say the least.

When did these magazines ‘die’?? I used to get them as a kid in the 90s. Then in high school, college and into my thirties in never really even thought about them.
