It sort of wasn’t, the problem was that back then the fire rate was tied to the frame rate.
Because consoles were running PUBG at 30fps at the very max (oftentimes a lot lower) it essentially nerfed the faster firing guns like the m4 etc on console, PC was ok assuming you had a good rig running high FPS.
Once they applied the fix, the M4 become way more dominant than the SCAR and just did way more at every distance. I don’t think there was any range where the SCAR was objectively better.
It’s cool that you have these old clips where it shows how clueless people were at the game back then or maybe how bad the latency/network code was, times have changed a lot, that guy just accepted death because he had no clue where he was being shot from.
