I'm playing this game for the first time and I just can't take Kerry seriously during his personal quests at all. Something about the way he looks and moves combined with the way he sounds and talks is way too fucking funny. He's holding three girls at gunpoint or being an ass about their music to a fan outside and he looks like this the whole fuckin time

He really is doofus maximus. A likable one, but your mileage may vary.

“Dont call me SAN” had me rolling, the VA kills the delovery

Kerry has that mad homeless man look in that scene.

He tries to be intimidating like Johnny, but he’s lacking charisma… and the impressive cock.

I think he’s just posturing to impress Johnny. His quests are all minor acts of anarchy which are nothing relative to blowing up the tower but Johnny always gives positive feedback when Kerry does something deranged. It’s like he’s an 89 year old who has temporarily regressed 50 years and is having a midlife crisis because Johnny is back. But once Johnny has left, if he was romanced all he wants to do is stay in with V and watch sitcoms eating popcorn.

For me he’s the funniest character in the game.

I literally just finished this mission 30 minutes ago. Talk about Deja vu

He fights for art. With a capital “A”!

But seriously, his little war against Us Cracks is so absurd, it’s funny.

Nope. His character is funny because he is a superstar but a wannabe at the same time.

He would have been a cool option for female v ngl female v has way worse options than male v panam and Kerry vs river and Judy lol

That’s kind of the point. Kerry isn’t really like this. He’s a soft sweet rebel type but he tries so hard to put on a bad boy facade.

I do love his arc. He goes from depressed rockerboy, to angry rockerboy, to inspired rockerboy. Then, if you romance him, to dorky romantic rockerboy. It’s a beautiful transformation.

Him holding 3 teenage girls at gunpoint cause he’s having a tantrum is funny

Kerry’s a bit of a poser. He’s a superstar, but one who built his legacy off of being an anti-establishment Rockerboy like Silverhand. I view this as a sort of mid-life crisis, a man who’s seen his previously thought dead friend return and now wants his respect and admiration. So he does these tiny acts of anarchy and destruction to attempt to show that he *isn’t* a poser. To show that all of what SAMURAI stood for initially, he stands for.

The issue is, Silverhand was the real deal, and Kerry just ain’t. Even if Johnny *was* just as big in the industry (I mean the dude was a millionaire, had his own record label,) he had an actual impact in contributing to the Arasaka Tower Raid/Bombing. Went down fighting, SMG in one hand, Malorian in the other, blaze ‘o glory. Kerry doesn’t and didn’t get that, he’s still famous, but his time in the spotlight with SAMURAI faded away, left by himself.

It doesn’t help that, according to the Rockerboy accompaniment for the TTRPG, Kerry was almost constantly in the shadow of and compared to Silverhand, due to being in SAMURAI, and because their music was so similar when the band split. He probably internalized those critiques and wants to make up for the way the screamsheets talked about him, in the past.

  14. He’s an elderly man child. Nothing serious about him

Kerry at the beginning: “I’m not your ‘saan’.”
Kerry at the end : “hey girls why don’t you show me your new lyrics”
