Pov: the moment you realize that your new gpu won’t fit inside the case (it’s 1 cm too long)

If there is a will, there is a way.

  2. if it’s returnable then swap it for a dual fan model. Or, here is your opportunity for a case upgrade. Can get some nice cases for pretty cheap these days

ok, i’ll assume its a deal u found used, because that looks like an old strix 1080 or 1070, now for the case… yea it can fit u just have to put in on an angle first then seat it, but its going to overheat like hell if u close that case.

I also asume you cant buy another case not only because money but because that board has some prop BS that wont be compatible right? if so… angle grinder time. If no angle grinder… berserk mode and bend the side.

That‘s actually a blessing in disguise, putting your new GPU in THAT case would have turned your PC into an oven in a matter of minutes. (unless there are some really well hidden airflow gaps in there, i for one can‘t see them)

Looks like it’d fit tho albeit barely. Try get it in the case at an angle, then get the rear ports flush to the brackets. Should have enough clearance to get the card straight and push it down the pcie slot.

This is why Ackerman and Schmitt gave us the angle grinder.

  7. Then you get a new case. When you start assembling you realize the old PSU does not fit. So you get a new PSU. When you happily start putting it together, you realize this new PSU does not have that connector you need for that old thing you have. So you upgrade that old thing, and then you notice that…

This is why I’ve never upgraded my Coolermaster CM Stacker in 21 years the damn thing is so cavernous it can fit in anything you throw at it. It is going a bit rusty these days though.

  9. is that mustard power supply going to run that gpu

  10. TekTravis

Buy a new case and transfer the computer I to it.

  11. Mysterious_Sound_464

Cut the gap and maybe another little section for the airflowww

  12. Throwaythisacco

put the GPU in at an angle, and then tilt it in the case to get it to fit.

…Is the moment you realize your front panel doesn’t hold any critical parts and you make space with a pipe wrench.

  14. foreskrin

Bring it to me and I’ll make that shit fit. But honestly as others have suggested…you should get a better case.

  15. DynamicHunter

Common newbie mistake. Happened with my first PC build. Wherever you bought it (new) might allow returns with a restocking fee.

  16. Time for a new case and a better one that can allow more airflow too.

  17. That’s because you’re supposed to be installing it inside a computer case, not an oven. You’ve got a proper card, now get a proper case to put it in. You know, with airflow and fans. Things that will keep that new card of yours around a while longer.

    Onward! To MicroCenter!

Looks like a low wattage system. You’re probably going to need a new power supply too.

  20. DystopianWreck

Time to treat your self to a new case… with better airflow!

  21. SupportAndy123

That moment when you see a zoomer posting a PC build who doesn’t know how to use a tape measure or google search.

  22. river_euphrates1

Looks like tin snips are back on the menu boys!!!

  23. SaconDiznots

My dude that case has no air flow, better off without a case than a mini oven unless you live in norway or sum lol, jokes aside you upgraded your GPU i think its time to upgrade the case too.

  24. SubstanceNo1691

thanks for the juciy feet pics ill add this to my harddrive

  25. Biscuits4u2

You’ve discovered why they list the physical measurements in the product description. Now time to cut some metal and make it work.

  26. CrunchyJeans

Kinda why I want a full tower for my next build.

  27. do some of you not look at measurements before buying?

  28. eXclurel

You can always get a cheap chinese pc case.

  29. Spacelesschief

This is why I had to go with the FE 4080S. All the other 4080S cards were too big

  30. AmbitiousEdi

My Asus Strix 3080 didn’t fit in my case until I performed some “percussive maintenance” using a hammer
