I know nothing in lawyer stuff but I think you can’t win in the court if they stall time cause they have money to deliver while you or some individual will lose money in certain time. If some one of this or manage to win in some case plss enlighten me thank you… XD

Sadly no, the ‘you currently do not need a PSN account’ wording has their ass covered. They can argue in court that at the time this was written it was not a requirement, but now it is…

Sued by who? The gamer community of Reddit?

I doubt any real threat to sue snoy gives even the littlest of shits about this.

It does say “currently,” you know that right? I hate this decision as much as the next guy. But their snake having ass was smart in their wording.

  5. Biscuits4u2

I’m sure they have it buried deep in the EULA that they can change that requirement at any time.

  6. HatesMonoBlue

Currently is right there. It’s always been a possibility.

“Currently” should have read between the lines, unless english isn’t your first language, then i can understand how you didn’t catch that.

I would have read *currently* and took that as a warning that future plans to need a psn are in the works. It’s pretty obvious

Players should unite and get a unified system set up where Sony is required to register an account for each person it wants to sell games to.

$9.95 a month per user Sony wants to reach. A veritable bargain!

Just wondering, I don’t have the game myself, but what is the problem of having to link an account. I see that it’s dumb and annoying, but is it that bad?

  10. Macaron-kun

That “currently” will save them, sadly.

I am really scared they will pull this kind of shit for the next Horizon game 😖

Sony, Arrowhead, and Steam pulled a scummy deal. Yes it was listed to have a PSN acct linked on the steam store page it is also small and kind of out of the way. Does everyone always read the fine print when buying a video game? Do you? They EULA does not mention having one and does not mention that Sony can change this requirement in the future. They made an exception at launch to not enforce this because it was causing issues with playing the game. They chose to prioritize people playing and buying the game over the PSN acct. I assume they wanted to see how many sales they could get at launch.

Sony changed the wording on their FAQ page for PSN acct requirement from optional to some games require it (in regards to PC players) AFTER the news dropped and the backlash started on Friday 5-3-24.

Arrowhead knew this was coming 6 months prior to release of the game. The Devs acted shocked to the community when they received backlash. The CEO admitted to this and seems apathetic(?) in his posts.

Sony only supports 70~ country’s when it comes to creating a PSN acct. Some country’s can only create a PSN acct with a PS4/5. Steam sold the game in country’s that PSN is not supported. They never region locked it. Using a VPN to get around the region lock is a violation of Sony’s TOS for their games. If you are caught you are banned. Steam blocked the sale of the game in those regions this weekend. Supposedly steam is giving refunds but it seems to be only those players affected by the PSN region block or those protected by EU laws. Supposedly the EU has very tough laws against company’s that pull shit like this.

Sony stated having a PSN acct linked makes you and the community safer by giving them they ability to ban players. Having a PSN linked acct does not make me or the community inherently safer. Cheating still happens to PS4/5 players now. All HD2 players have the ability to block and report players now. Linking a PSN acct to my Steam acct actually makes me less safe. Sony has a history of being a target for data breaches. Regardless of me creating a PSN acct with burner info it is still connected to a real Steam acct.

Supposedly AH Devs and Sony are in discussion right now to come up with a solution nothing has been promised as of yet and nothing has been hinted at.

I believe that Sony is using this PSN requirement to pad their numbers and the next step is charging PC players for a PSN+ acct to play this title and future titles. If they can get away with PSN requirement for PC players they will push to get a PSN+ subscription fee for PC players.

Bro can you read “you currently” ….

Helldivers is a poster child for why studios shouldn’t interact with their audience publicly. The smallest sensation of power and the audience brigade about every little thing. You own nothing, you think horse armour is ok if it’s only cosmetic, you’re fine with peddling gambling to kids (and literally everyone else), pay to win is now acceptable and you lot choose connecting a PSN account to cry about.

  15. MrDrDude333

Gonna say it again. Yall are fucking cry babies. Just make a damn account and move the fuck on. Jesus Christ.

  16. LazerAfterburn

Can someone please explain why everyone hates this game so much now I don’t understand don’t you need an account to link for basically everything now?

  17. vonWeizhacker

They will most certainly be in the EU.
