At work, I have to use Edge for one specific purpose –
We have a specific software package that relies on old tech which allowed a website to launch a web application on your PC, and this isn’t compatible with any modern browser….
… except Edge running in IE mode. Anything else, and this app complains that a service isn’t running. There’s supposedly a way around it by invoking DLLs directly, but documentation is scarce and the one person I know that has a working solution isn’t exactly someone I can reach out to – he works at a large international bank and I can’t easily reach him.

People love to download chrome, but I honestly didn’t bother on my pc. It’s the same thing and I can do everything I need to. There’s not really any need to have features on chrome for me
i have used so many browsers but actually there is negligible difference in the usage experience and after a while everything feels jusut the same

I won’t ever use edge, and not because I think it’s bad. It is the forcefeeding that I inherently disagree with, I can’t stand it. If you make a good product, I strongly believe you don’t have to try and force people to use it. So I just won’t buy or use anything that is heavily marketed to me. If we all did this, we could kill the advertising industry.

I gave Edge a shot just for funsies a few months ago. Just wanted to see how it ran. With maybe 4-6 tabs open max, it was using 29GB out of my 32GB of ram. Its appetite for ram makes chrome look anorexic.
