That 1080p monitor is having the time of its life.

It’s not a problem at all, hardware parts will last longer at that res before you upgrade them
Markson120
It’s not a problem if the only game you play is jedi survivor.
benevolent_nephilim
My brother in Christ, make the upgrade to 1440p. You won’t regret it.
multiwirth_
Just wait for the next AAA release and you’ll be glad you’ve got 1080p only.

Heh. Mine is literally 2x the size! And 4x the resolution! The future is here.

You are hugely bottlenecking your pc with that shit monitor

That’s my monitor and I see no reason to change it anytime in the future. Its done me too well for these past like 11 years or something like that.

Dang bro at least get a higher refresh rate. I’m on 240Hz 1080p with hardware that’s overkill for it.
Meatslinger
Totally fine; just means you can turn on ALL the “sweetening” options. Full super-sampling, not the fake DLAA/FSR stuff, maximum texture filtering, ray tracing, 8K textures, maximum draw distance, etc.
KebabRacer69
Wow, even I went higher in resolution before having those specs. Do it.

Listen….as someone who has been on 1440p (and now stupidly 3440×1440…) for the last 10 years and constantly having to deal with that moving performance target when the newest AAA high fidelity games come out
1080p at 24″ and below is the way to do it
I basically have to upgrade my PC every 3 years at 1440p , at 1080p it’d probably be 5-6 years+
All because I have a weakness for nice monitors…which then require I need a real nice PC real often to keep up with the resolution/refresh rate. It’s a vicious cycle.

I feel fucking attacked…….
For the record, my monitor is 27”

Btw I am definitely looking to upgrade my monitor I just can’t decide whether to get the Samsung G9 or the Asus Swift (both oled) because I’m not sure whether I want an ultrawide or not.
Plus they’re both like 1000€ so I’ll chill for a while now.

My main monitor is a 1080p/60 Dell Ultrasharp, and my GPU is a 4070.
That said, my desk is in our lounge, so I can output to our LGC2OLED at 120hz
God-Among-Men-
Same but I’ve got a 4070 super and a 7800x3d which should be able to play games at 1440p. (Mine is 180hz tho)
Life_Is_A_Tragedy
Eternal performance.

Me with my rtx 3060ti and ryzen 7 5800x3d playing minecraft on 1080p 144hz 😀
But in my defense, higher resolution monitors always end up with me zooming in because i cannot read things comfortably, so 1080p it is
OneCrazyRussian
Running 240hz 1080p… With 2.25x DLDSR on a 4090 freaking rocks
Games have 0 jaggies, any frame cap of 30/60/120 looks smooth
And it works surprisingly well even with old games as if I can’t set the resolution properly… I can just do 1080p without issue
GothicRuler
Gaming in 1080p in a system like that isn’t bad ngl
bluntyboi13
My 720p side monitor is on crack ( ryzen 5800x3d – 3070ti )
