I can honestly say I was never so close to breaking my controller as I was playing this game. No lead was safe. Ever. Pedestrian CPU opponent can become superhuman at any minute.

Followed by the first dark souls before it got mega popular

Mostly Dark Souls or any tough game like it.

NFL Street was so good. I wish they came out with a new one.

    STAAAAAAND UP AND GET CRUUUUUNK

(yeah I know that’s 2 but I can’t help but hear it every time I see that franchise)

Def Jam: Icon is the only game I’ve ever broken a controller over and it was 4 controllers. Fuck that game

Battletoads? (Due to the underwater level)

Discovered a flaw in FIFA 2012 that allowed me to score almost every time with Real Madrid so long as I did a certain sequence that involved taking the ball out wide with Marcelo and running to the right corner and delivering a cross into the box that would almost always end up with Ronaldo heading the ball for a goal. Usually by the 3rd time, most would realize it was unstoppable and lose their shit or quit…lol good times.

I think the biggest problem with the balance is sort of knowing how to use game breaker 2.

Overall I think that mechanic of the second game breaker just made it so you always use it on defense and you’re guaranteed a pick 6 equivalent.

Amazing game on the whole tho

    Mission: Impossible (1990)

Holy hell. The definition of Nintendo hard and the payoff just wasn’t worth it. Needed multiplayer so, so bad.

NFL Streets 1000%. I was in college and my roommates and I outlawed Mike Alstott and Larry Czonka so we wouldn’t get in arguments. Such a good game, but got so broke when we all discovered how good the option was.

Platoon for the original Nintendo for me what a terrible game that was and yeah it was a tie in for the movie, it was frustratingly difficult and it also didn’t help that sometimes the controls were unresponsive and slow

MvC3 has to be top of my list, closely followed by the souls series.

Smash Bros could end in more rage quits when you trash talk and back it up.

  15. There are about a hundred nes and snes games I could say are equally BS. But also NFL Street was so difficult to master. Especially with those challenges and stuff you had to do like wall tricks while catching a tipped pass from the RB while on defense as the linebacker or some shit.

Still one of my all time favorites to play with friends though. I did love all those EA Sports Big games.

NBA Jam!!!!!!!!!!…. my cousin would talk sooo much shit.

Was so excited to pay this online on PS2

    Never again

Man it was either NFL Street once you get to those final 2-3 leagues or Pokémon Stadium trying to clear the Elite Four. Or maybe Mario Golf on the N64 where you get totally screwed by the Toad AI getting a 400yrd drive right on the green in 25mph hour wind.

You never battled in MarioKart 64 then.

I was an ASSHOLE when it came to NFL street.

My friend and I skipped school and went to Best Buy where they had a demo of this game and I was talking so much shit that day.

Made my friend cry right there in best buy lol. It made me dial it back with my shit talking when gaming with some friends. I was truly insufferable and a bad winner.

Jurassic Park III: The DNA Factor AND Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Both for GBA.

Both games lured me in with the licenses (not a HP fan anymore, but I was big into it at the time) and especially the JPIII one looked promising. “A Jurassic Park side-scroller?! Sounds like the old Sega Genesis games!”

Nope. Both games were horribly designed, cheap, licensed schlock that was downright frustrating. JPIII for its terrible controls and bullshit DNA minigame after each level (and if you fail, you have to play the whole level again), and HP for its bullshit stealth missions, annoying enemies and the fact that every area was dotted with a ridiculous amount of pits that were one-hit kills and sent you right back to the start (I still have the sound of Harry’s yell as he falls into a pit burned into my brain). My mom actually confiscated the GBA for a while because she got sick of the sounds of angry gorilla noises and things being thrown at the wall coming from my room.

And JPIII was my first GBA game. Ouch. At least I got Super Mario Advance (which was the GBA version of Super Mario Bros. 2) the next day.

Those are the only two I can think of, though I’ve never played some of the infamously tough games like Ninja Gaiden or the FromSoftware catalogue. I’m sure they’re great but I play games to have fun, not to get stressed and frustrated. I get enough of that in my day-to-day life. Well, that said, I have played through Jak II (a notoriously tough game) several times over the years, and it definitely has its frustrating moments, but it never pissed me off half as bad as those aforementioned GBA “gems”.

Street was A OK in my book.
Donkey Kong Country is mine. That is not an appropriate challenge level for the preteen/teenage age group. Unforgiving.

Capcom vs SNK 2 EO on Xbox. There is always somebody better.

I don’t like sports or sports games but that game was so fucking fun to play with friends. Holy shit what a GOAT

Street Fighter 4 may or may not be responsible for multiple injures and/or the destruction of property, but I can neither confirm or deny the specifics of my involvement or any other relevant details.
