Where would you put this on the PSU tier list?

This is made specifically for crypto mining. Might be ok new but don’t touch it used

It looks like it’s marketed to be a power supply specifically to hook up to multiple GPUs for crypto mining, that’s kind of funny. But yeah, fuck that shit, I wouldn’t be surprised if the efficiency rating was fake lol.

  3. It is a high output multi-rail PSU intended to power a lot of video cards for cryptomining. They were around $350 at the time, so this isn’t bottom rail equipment.

Just from the spec, it has active power factor correction (good) and it is rated to 90%+ conversion efficiency between 700 and 1600 watts output. From what I can dig up from old mining forums, they did very badly on “typical” system loads, with efficiency below 70% at a high end gaming PC’s pathetic little 550-600 watt load.

Typically, these PSUs did not have good over temperature protection (miners ran things cool anyway, running hot was a good way to reduce efficiency and waste electricity) OCP but did have UVP and OVP, and only a quite rudimentary 5V/3.3V derived via group regulation (usually bad, but not for the use case here). They excelled at doing what they were meant to do, running a lot of video cards efficiently (miners wanted efficiency), reliably, and without risking the expensive video cards with shonky power.

They are not good PSUs for regular system use.

50/50 gambit, it explodes or mines nodes.

  7. SurealGod

In the “One of the power supplies of all time” tier

80 platinum and 2000W for $150. You know its gotta be premium shit.

I wouldn’t use it even to recharge my AA rechargeable batteries tier

Be fine for a general gaming pc, as you would only use up to 500w.
If it blew, it wouldn’t take out the mainboard or anything.
Just speaking from experience..as I have had psu’s blow up with blue flames and fireworks more than once, but none of the systems were affected.

This is a mining PSU, I have a similar one from a different brand, they can be fine for test bench/mining rig use but I wouldn’t put it anywhere near your personal rig.

Not on a PSU tier list, on a bomb tier list. This is the Chinese faked stuff that will probably turn into a bomb

In addition to being a sketchy Chinese mining power supply, you should know that (if you’re in the US) you can only get like 1800 watts out of most outlets/breakers. To run that thing properly you would probably need a 20 amp circuit. You might be able to surf the edge of the breakers in your house and pull them a little bit over capacity without tripping them but it still sketchy as hell.

That is of course assuming that they’re not blatantly lying about his output capacity which is very possible given the incorrectly forged 80 plus logo and all the typos on the label…

This one time, during the 2017 bull cycle 1070s and up couldn’t be found anywhere. I bought some cyberpower ryzen builds to get ahold of GPUs. Paid to upgrade to “1000w gold plus” psus and dual 580 8gbs and made a rig out of 3 of these premades. So during Covid I still had a psu. and threw it up for sale for $100 during the shortages and I had a guy come buy it. I noticed it said “80 PULS gold” felt bad, but figured “typo” well….hommie uno reverse carded paid me with 4 real $20s and a decent counterfeit $20 mixed in.

Never noticed, but he didn’t either I guess? Felt fine about everything when it all settled out. GGs all around I guess and fuck cyberpower?
