Delivery driver threw my new motherboard over my fence

Was it not in a static proof bag, surrounded by foam, in a box?

You need to report this clown to the courier he is employed with.

Ya that was already like that. I highly doubt dropping it over a fence is going to do that, especially when it’s most likely seen worst during transit between hubs.

“new mobo” ? what shady company did you buy from? It should have easily survived a fall like that. also. that’s your fault. you locked your gate and you have blocks in front of the opening so you cannot even open it if it was unlocked. if you’re ordering something be home to intercept it or fuggin keep your gate unlocked. at least you got your package instead of it being stolen. I 100% don’t believe that a drop from your fence broke a ram clip. that sounds insane. if anything I would believe a chip in the PCB but a broken ram fastener? IDK about that.

Is your gate locked or something so he had no other choice? Maybe didn’t want to leave it on the outside viewable to the public.

I don’t really see how a toss over the fence would cause that kind of damage if it was in its original packaging.

This is maybe an RMA rather than blame it on the delivery guy. I mean, he still shouldn’t have tossed it, but I don’t think the damage is because of him.

Glad to hear you’re getting a new one for cheaper and it all got resolved. That’s a real shitty move by the delivery driver, I’ve had multiple issues with ups throwing my fragile packages onto my porch from 3-5 meters away.

I am surprised you even opened it. Immediate return for me.

Legendary American delivery service. The more i hear about it, the more i like my local Ukrainian service. Cheap, fast, always hand to hand delivery. Always call you to ask if you can receive the package today|in an hour|in 5 minutes. Never had a single issue with them.

I can’t see how that specific damage could have been caused by throwing it over a fence when it’s in a box, has padding, static bag unless something spikey poked through which from the image there’s not.

  11. Missed your chance to throw it back, that’s the real loss here

i’m not sure about your neighborhood, but i’d rather them throw package over the fence then let porch pirate steal them. so much stuff goes on in shipping, the product should be expected to be thrown over a fence or into a truck. unless it has fragile written on it, i think the driver did the right thing.

  13. Sounds like you ordered it from somebody who subcontracts DoorDash to do their deliveries.

I’ll buy a camera only to install it for this type of situations. That guy would have lost the job on the spot.

Maybe tie your dogs so I won’t have to throw stuff over the fences.

They were probably just really excited to get that package to you.

Boxes drop much further during the general course of shipping being loaded into and out of trucks, trains and aircraft. It wasn’t necessarily the final fall that killed it – if the box couldn’t survive that final fall, it was never going to make it.

  18. Iridiumgreen

you should have opened that door instead of putting a bolder behind it

This post needs to be tagged NSFMR…. RIP OP; hopefully, you don’t have any issues on a replacement.

  20. Treat it as your punishment for using Very.

Why you’d buy PC parts from them (or anything else for that matter) in beyond me.
